The New York Knicks used a 21-point run in the fourth quarter to win 123-112 on Saturday, thanks to Cameron Payne’s fourth-quarter heroics. The Detroit Pistons look to bounce back in Game two to make this series the tightest it can be, as most experts have predicted. The Knicks will look to grab a chokehold on the series on Monday Night with a win. Here are my DFS picks for this huge Game 2 in the Eastern Conference First Round.
Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks DFS Start ‘Ems
Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.
Mikal Bridges ($5,700 DraftKings, $6,500 FanDuel)
Bridges is coming off a lackluster game in his Knicks Playoff debut, where he only had 17.5 fantasy points on DraftKings. So look for him to bounce back for the Knicks on Monday night, as normally he doesn’t have two bad fantasy games in a row often. I would look to start Bridges with the budget he has on DraftKings at this very moment on Monday night.
Malik Beasley ($5,300 DraftKings, $5,600 FanDuel)
Beasley was on fire on Saturday night, as he finished with 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block for a total of 36 fantasy points on DraftKings. Beasley’s move to the Pistons has been a blessing for him thus far, as he is getting more of a huge role on the Pistons than he had in Milwaukee. Start Beasley in Monday’s DFS.
Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks DFS Sit ‘Ems
On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.
Isaiah Stewart ($3,700 DraftKings, $4,700 FanDuel)
Not only did Isaiah Stewart have only 13.8 fantasy points on Saturday night, but he also has a questionable designation with a knee injury. That combination of factors is a great reason for DFS players to avoid Stewart alone. But the matchup as well is a bad matchup for Stewart, as KAT and Mitchell Robinson are two great defensive bigs in their roles.
Miles McBride ($3,700 DraftKings, $4,500 FanDuel)
This is one of the situations where you look to Cameron Payne rather than McBride, based on who is more on fire heading into this game. McBride had 8.3 fantasy points, while Payne had 18.5 fantasy points and is currently on a cheaper budget than McBride. Sit McBride.
Total Apex Lock of the Game
Josh Hart ($6,900 DraftKings, $7,700 FanDuel)
Josh Hart is one of those guys who is always a consistent fantasy option, no matter what his points production indicates. Hart had 32.3 points in the game on Saturday for the Knicks in the win. Hart will always be the ultimate stat sheet stuffer, so make sure your lineups on Monday contain Josh Hart; you won’t regret it.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
Tobias Harris ($6,200 DraftKings, $6,400 FanDuel)
Harris did have a strong Game 1 performance as he had 25 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, for 38 fantasy points in the Pistons’ loss to the Knicks in Game 1. But the playoffs have always seen a collapse of sorts for Harris; look at his time in Philadelphia, for example. This is a risky fade as he is at a great price point for this night on DFS, but I wouldn’t trust consistency from Harris and play him in DFS on Monday.
Conclusion
The Knicks should win this game, but if Cade Cunningham and Beasley both have excellent nights, the Pistons could pull off the upset and steal away home-court advantage from New York. Jalen Brunson, Hart, Bridges, KAT, and OG Anunoby are great candidates for the Knicks to have big nights in DFS. Total Apex Fantasy is the place to be for more NBA DFS throughout the Postseason up to the conclusion of the NBA Finals in June.
