Paul George enters year 14 coming into the 2024 NBA season. The Fresno State product joins the Philadelphia 76ers on a massive four-year $212 million dollar contract. Paul George just turned 34 and is looking to find some success in Philly to end his career.
PG13 is still on the cusp of being an elite player and showed flashes of his younger self with the Clippers. If Paul George can replicate the season he had in Los Angeles last season the 76ers can find some serious success and be NBA Finals hopefuls.
Paul George 2022 & 2023 Stats and Fantasy Production
Fantasydata had Paul George ranked as the SF6 last season, just behind his teammate Kawhi Leonard. Hoopstats also had Paul George ranked as the SF6 last season. For the Clippers last year Paul George averaged 22.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and averaged just over 39 fantasy points per game.
Paul George played over 60 games for the first time since the 2018-2019 NBA season, and his overall stats dropped, but his shooting percentage was the highest it has ever been. In 2022, PG averaged 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Paul George got to be the main man in LA while Kawhi missed a quarter of the season with injuries, that may be the last time in George’s career he is the #1 option.
Paul George 2024 Fantasy Projection
FantraxHQ has Paul George ranked as the SF9 entering the 2024-2025 NBA season. Paul George is going to have to take the back seat in Philadelphia with former MVP Joel Embiid being the number one option, and rising star Tyrese Maxey being the dynamic duo for the 76ers.
Paul George should still have a good season even as the third option, and he will still average in the high teens to low twenties for points, and have five to six rebounds, with a handful of assists and around one and a half steals. George will not be the target man like he has been in his career, and his production will drop, but it will not be a crazy amount that makes him an irrelevant player.
Final Thoughts
Paul George is going to be the best third option in the league this season, but he will see his numbers drop due to the other stars on the Sixers roster. The big man in Philly has had injury history in the past, and if something happens this season George will have to step in a fill his shoes.
Tyrese Maxey will be the teams’ number two option, but if Embiid goes down George could find a lot of shots coming his way. Paul George played on a star-studded roster with the Clippers last season, so sharing the ball will not be anything new to him. Paul George is still going to be the elite defender he has been his whole career causing disruptions which is a great trait to have for fantasy player. George had the best FG% of his career last season and is still playing at an all-star level George should be able to find success in Philly.
