Parris Campbell 2024 Fantasy Outlook

Parris Campbell

Parris Campbell, the former Colts/Giants wide receiver is entering his first year as a Philadelphia Eagle. Campbell has worked under Nick Sirianni before with the Colts when Sirianni was the Colts wide receiver coach.

Campbell is fighting for the Eagles wide receiver three spots with Johnny Wilson, and John Ross among others. Campbell has struggled to get off the blocks in his career as the former Ohio State prospect hasn’t lived up to the hype so far in his career as his best season was in 2022. Let’s look at the sixth-year receiver’s production from 2023.

Parris Campbell 2023 Production

Parris Campbell had 20 receptions for 104 yards and 0 touchdowns last season with the Giants. Campbell was one of the casualties of the putrid Giants offense last season. Fantasy Pros had Campbell as the WR135 last year on their analytics. That season with New York came after the best season of his career with the Colts in 2022 where he had 63 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns.

The Eagles need a solid contributor to be that number three receiver and Parris Campbell does have some interesting potential as that No. 3 option but fantasy-wise he might not be an option at all in 2024. Let’s look at his projections for 2024.

Parris Campbell 2024 Projection

ESPN has the following stat line projections for Parris Campbell, 17 receptions for 169 yards and 1 touchdown for 39.21 fantasy points in 2024. As was said before, Campbell is fighting for opportunities on this Eagles team to be the Wide Receiver three with rookies Johnny Wilson, and Anias Smith, as well as fellow veteran speedster John Ross. Campbell should have familiarity with Sirianni to a point but that doesn’t translate to fantasy production, especially with the primary weapons that the Eagles have in 2024 to build around.

Fantasy Pros has Campbell as WR128 in their ECR ratings with the following stat projections, 23 receptions for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns for a total of 56 fantasy points. Fantasy Pros is higher on Campbell than the ESPN projections by a good margin as it appears.

Campbell is a good receiver option if he fits the mold but the concern right now in Philly is that the WR3 is currently not in the building as there are speculations that GM Howie Roseman might make a move for a WR3 like a John Metchie III or a Jahan Dotson if the opportunity is there to do so. If that happens Campbell’s production is essentially wiped from existence.

Update, this was before the Philadelphia Eagles made the move for the former first-round pick Dotson from the Washington Commanders. Parris Campbell will likely be their fourth or fifth receiver.

Final Thoughts

Parris Campbell is a talented wide receiver who hasn’t broken out like he was touted when he was drafted by the Colts in 2019 from Ohio State. The sixth-year receiver is looking to reunite with his former receiver coach to revitalize his career after a disappointing 2023 season with the Giants.

Unfortunately, this won’t be the right opportunity for Campbell himself as a player but also for fantasy owners to look at Campbell as a viable option. The chances are that he’s probably not going to get the targets needed to be a viable bench piece during the year. If you’re in a really deep fantasy league then maybe take the flyer on him but other than that don’t waste the time.
