Panthers vs Raiders DFS Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em| September 22, 2024

The Panthers travel to Las Vegas to try and avoid an 0-3 start to the season. After benching second-year quarterback Bryce Young earlier in the week, they announced that veteran Andy Dalton will start this Sunday. The Raiders are looking to build on the momentum from last week’s win against Baltimore. Can Dalton provide the offensive spark the Panthers have been missing this season, or will they fall victim to Minshew Mania in Vegas?

Panthers vs Raiders DFS Start ‘Ems

Devante Adamas, WR, Las Vegas Raiders (DraftKings $15.9K, FanDuel $16K)

Adams continues his dominance this season as he already has 14 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown through two games. The Panthers defense allowed the Saints to have success with the deep ball in week 1,  the Raiders should look to emulate that this week against Carolina. Adams should continue to be the number one target in the passing game and the focal point of the Raiders offense.

Diontae Johnson, WR, Carolina Panthers ( DraftKings $10.2K, FanDuel $9.5K)

Johnson has been a casualty of the lackluster Panthers offense thus far. He only has five catches for 34 yards through two games. The quarterback change in Carolina is going to be good for the veteran receiver.  If it is one thing that Andy Dalton can do, it is get the ball to his pass catchers. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Johnson triple his yards on the season in this game against the Raiders. He is the number one pass-catching option in this offense and with the terrible defensive play for Carolina, there will be plenty of opportunity this Sunday for Johnson.

Panthers vs Raiders Sit ‘Ems

Andy Dalton, QB, Carolina Panthers ( DraftKings $12K, FanDuel $13.5K)

Two things can be true, Andy Dalton as the starting quarterback will be good for the fantasy value of pass catchers in Carolina and Dalton is not a viable starting option at quarterback for fantasy. Dalton hasn’t started since week 3 of last season, given he threw for 361 yards and two touchdowns that week against the Seahawks. It is to be expected that Dalton will have to knock off some rust in his first start in a year and there are likely better options for your fantasy team this week at quarterback.

Zamir White, RB, Las Vegas Raiders ( DraftKings $12.9K, FanDuel $10.5K)

White has been struggling with efficiency this season averaging only 3.1 yards per carry. That was highlighted last week when he only had 24 yards against Baltimore with 2.7 yards per carry. Head Coach Antonio Pierce has continued to show confidence in the young running back by stating they need to give him more rushing opportunities to get him some momentum. This matchup against a weak Panthers defense should show how good White is. Look for the Raiders to give him plenty of rushing opportunities in this game but he shouldn’t be started in fantasy until he shows improvement.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Brock Bowers, TE, Las Vegas Raiders ( DraftKings $14.1K, FanDuel $13K)

Bowers looks to continue his stellar rookie season this week against the Panthers. He has at least eight targets in each of the first two games. Minshew should continue to heavily target the rookie tight end as opposing defenses should make stopping Devante Adams the focal point of their defensive gameplan.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers ( DraftKings $12.3K, FanDuel $12K)

Hubbard has only 16 carries this season for 78 yards. It is not entirely on him as it is hard to run the ball when you’re trailing big in every game as the Panthers have been this season. Hubbard isn’t featured much in the passing game as he only has four catches this season. This game could easily turn into a shoot-out, rendering Hubbard and the run game useless for the third consecutive week.
