Eagles fans, including myself, were highly concerned and frightened Sunday night around 8 p.m. when viral videos from the fans in attendance at the open practice at the Linc began circulating, showing the Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson being carted out. This situation had the stadium silenced, as well as millions of Eagles fans panicked about the potential of Dickerson’s injury being one of those season-ending injuries that would destroy any chances of a Super Bowl repeat.
But late Monday Afternoon, Eagles fans got amazing news that Dickerson’s injury was minor enough that he’s considered week-to-week, with the goal being to return to the lineup for the September 4th opener against the Dallas Cowboys, or Cowgirls as a lot of Eagles fans call them. Which is amazing news, but there’s a chance that he’s either hobbled or not playing that night, so let’s look at the fantasy implications of this injury for the Eagles’ studs.
The Dominant Left Side could be a slightly weaker point if Dickerson is not 100% which could hurt Saquon’s Ceiling

The left side of Jordan Maliata and Landon Dickerson was a wrecking ball last season. That side of the line was a huge responsibility for some of the big runs that Saquon Barkley had throughout the 2024 season, including the iconic Snow Game run in the Divisional round against the Rams.
So, a lot of the run game comes from Dickerson directly, so we could see a slight dip in Barkley’s production early on in 2025, if Dickerson is not able to go or is hobbled due to the meniscus injury that he suffered. Barkley is probably not going for 2000 yards again, but he definitely should be a Top 3 running back in Fantasy for this upcoming season if he personally stays healthy. This Dickerson news is something to monitor over the next few weeks as Redrafts are going on.
Hurts’ Fantasy Impact could also be affected a smidge with Dickerson’s injury
Jalen Hurts is also going to be one of those affected, especially if Dickerson ends up missing time, because the prospects of Tyler Steen at LG and Matt Pryor at RG are going to scare Eagles fans to death in terms of the pass protection up the middle. Even though Steen played well in the NFC Championship at Left Guard, going through a multi-week span is going to be a little bit different if he’s in there at the position. So if the pass protection gets leaky, it ruins the Hurts, AJ Brown, and Devonta Smith fantasy markets hugely, especially if Hurts doesn’t have time to throw the ball from the pocket.
This Meniscus Injury is a Blessing for Eagles Fantasy
If Dickerson is back by Week 1 as is planned, this is one of those great blessings that will keep all plans afloat for this Kevin Patullo-run offense to smash fantasy projections, as people will FIND OUT on September 4th as the Eagles banner drops. Look for the balanced offense philosophy to be one of those that can carry over from the Super Bowl run, which will be a BOOM to fantasy owners everywhere for the 2025 season. Even if Dickerson misses Week 1 or is hobbled, the Eagles will still be a must-have commodity in Fantasy Football in the year of 2025, especially Saquon Barkley once again.
The Eagles have been a consistent mark in fantasy football in the Nick Sirianni era up to this point, and the Dickerson injury can cause some pause for the early parts of 2025 fantasy, but the Eagles will be thriving for sure by the middle of the season, as Dickerson should be fully healthy by then for sure even if the star left guard plays hobbled in the opener.
