Week 7 Matchup
The schedule makers can be cruel sometimes. The Jacksonville Jaguars just finished a trip to Seattle. The Los Angeles Rams played in Baltimore. From there, they both traveled to London to meet at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Interestingly, the West Coast team had an easier trip across the pond than the East Coast team.
Travel aside, both teams come into the game at 4-2. For the Rams, this is expected. Jacksonville, meanwhile, has been a surprise. LA is riding high after a decisive 17-3 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, a game that showcased their defensive prowess and offensive efficiency. Conversely, the Jaguars are looking to rebound from a concerning 20-12 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Key Details

Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams carry a wave of confidence to Wembley Stadium. Coming off an impressive defensive showing against the Ravens, they face a new challenge in a Jaguars offense eager to bounce back.
The biggest question mark for the Rams revolves around the health of star wide receiver Puka Nacua, who is dealing with a sprained ankle. Nacua has been the engine of the Los Angeles offense, utilized in the passing game, as a ball carrier, and as a formidable blocker. Should Nacua be sidelined, the pressure will mount on veteran receiver Davante Adams and quarterback Matthew Stafford to carry the load.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars limp into London, desperate to wash away the bitter taste of their loss to Seattle. The final score didn’t fully capture how out-of-sync the team looked. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was under constant duress, getting sacked a season-high seven times and pressured on 27 plays. The struggles up front were a major point of concern for Head Coach Liam Coen, who is no stranger to the Rams, having previously served as their offensive coordinator.
“We have to look at it, and take accountability for it,” starting right guard Patrick Mekari said of the offensive line’s performance. “At the end of the day, we did not play well enough up front.”To make matters worse, the Jaguars will be without a key defensive playmaker. Linebacker Devin Lloyd, who leads the NFL with five takeaways, was ruled out with a calf injury and did not make the trip.
His absence was felt last week when the Jaguars, who entered the game leading the league in turnover margin, failed to record a single takeaway. “We just felt like, as coaches, watching him run a little bit, that it was just too tight,” Coen said of a decision to hold Lloyd out of the previous game. Without their defensive star, the Jaguars’ defense must find a new way to create the game-changing plays they’ve become known for.
Prediction
Jacksonville was starting to get some love from the experts until its sloppy performance in Seattle. If they lay an egg after a long trip out west, it will seemingly get worse flying to London. The Rams are a veteran team and will not let the travel and distractions of London impact their game.
