Green Bay Packers

The emotional weight of this game extends beyond Parsons’ return. A victory would solidify the Packers’ status as legitimate Super Bowl contenders, while another loss could send the Cowboys spiraling deeper into mediocrity. “Once the game starts, who’s going to be worried about any trade?” Parsons told The Associated Press, though he admitted sacking his former teammate Dak Prescott will be “painful.”

The Packers come to Dallas determined to prove their 13-10 loss to Cleveland was an aberration rather than a concerning trend.  However, discipline remains a glaring concern for Matt LaFleur’s squad. The Packers committed 14 penalties against the Browns, bringing their two-game total to 24 – their highest since 2010.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys face mounting pressure after a disappointing 1-2 start that has exposed serious flaws on both sides of the ball. Dallas ranks 30th in total offense while their pass defense sits dead last in the NFL – a combination that spells trouble against a Packers team seeking redemption. Cowboys fans are still waiting for Prescott to get to the next level this season. His 800 yards are not bad, but he has just three touchdown passes and three interceptions.

First-year coach Brian Schottenheimer remains optimistic despite the struggles. “If you truly do believe, which I truly do believe, that each week is its own week, and you can’t get too high, you can’t get too low,” he said. The Cowboys showed flashes in their season-opening loss to Philadelphia, but defensive breakdowns against New York and Chicago have left fans questioning this team’s ceiling under new leadership.

Prediction

The emotional return of Parsons will be so sky high, so off the charts, so big that Carrie Underwood probably has a new song ready for SNF, it will be so epic that….it will mean nothing on the field. A better Green Bay team will be the reason they win and cover, and all the rest will be just noise. Since we are on the topic, it would be nice if Carrie changed it up a bit once in a while. Not just one part, the whole song.

Final Pick

Green Bay Packers  -6.5
