The New York Yankees secured game four of this best-of-seven series last night in a battle. The two games in Ohio have been wars in which you truly didn’t know until the last out who would come out the victor. But the Yankees did last night and now they have a commanding 3-1 series lead and are one win away from the World Series. The Guardians at least want to win tonight to force the series back to the Bronx and put the pressure back on the Yankees. Based on the last two nights, who knows what will happen in game five?
New York Yankees at Cleveland Guardians DFS Start’em
New York Yankees 2B Gleyber Torres($7,200 on DraftKings)
New York’s leadoff hitter has been the unsung hero of this postseason for the Yankees. Torres has been one of the more ridiculed players on the roster all year, as he has always garnered such high expectations. However, since manager Aaron Boone put him in the leadoff spot, he has been one of the most valuable players, as he hits in front of both Juan Soto and Aaron Judge.
Torres is six for 17 in the series with two runs batted in. Teams have no choice but to give him pitches to hit as the goal is to not have anyone on base for the New York Yankees superstars so this should be one of the easier starts for this ballgame.
Cleveland Guardians OF Lane Thomas($6,800 on DraftKings)
Lane Thomas was a sensational pickup for the Guardians at the trade deadline and he has delivered multiple big hits in the postseason so far. Thomas has two hits in the series but in the playoffs as a whole, he has been more than excellent. He hits right in the middle of some big bats in Cleveland’s lineup.
The Guardians are facing off against lefty Carlos Rodon and Thomas has a hot .302 against left-handed pitching in 2024 including the playoffs. It’s a must-win for Cleveland so assume the bats will want to come out today and Thomas has not had his statement game in this series. So ride with one of the most talented players on the Guardians’ roster.

New York Yankees 3B Jazz Chisholm Jr($7,800 on DraftKings)
The Yankees trade acquisition has been a great one. Chisholm was the perfect find at the trade deadline and he has delivered. But, he has not made that major impact in the postseason. Chisholm is four for 31 in the playoffs this year which is an average of .129. He just hasn’t been close to being a factor.
Chisholm is now hitting cleanup for the Yankees which means that he is hitting in between Judge and Stanton. But, he just hasn’t been good over the last two weeks which makes this price way too high. The fact he is closer to $8,000 to $7,000 makes this an impossible start as he needs to prove first that he is worth putting in your lineup at that price point.
Cleveland Guardians Pitcher Tanner Bibee($11,400 on DraftKings)
Starting pitchers are the position in DFS in which players usually have to start one of the starting pitchers because they guarantee some points. The Guardians have their ace going today but he has been far from an ace in these playoffs. In three starts, Bibee has yet to pitch for five innings of work and he has given up four earned runs on 13 hits.
The Guardians have proven that they have a short leash for their pitchers including their ace. Bibee is a strikeout pitcher which means his pitch count gets high quickly. The New York Yankees also hit him well in this series as on October 15th, Bibee went an inning and a third. He gave up three runs on five hits. This Yankees offense is clicking on all cylinders so stay away from Cleveland’s starter.
