Location: Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts
K. Senga (R) vs. H. Dobbins (R)
Where to Watch: MLB.TV
The New York Mets head to Fenway Park to take on the Boston Red Sox in a three-game series. The Mets lost two out of three in the Subway Series against the New York Yankees. Boston lost two out of three at home to the Atlanta Braves. Both teams will look to get back on track in this series. These are two of the top offenses in the majors, so there should be plenty of fireworks coming out of Fenway. Can the Red Sox slow down the Mets’ offense and get some runs off their elite pitching?

Key Stats
New York Mets
At what point are we concerned about Juan Soto? The New York Mets’ big free agent acquisition hasn’t looked good over the past week. In the past seven games, he is only hitting .188. While his OBP is .435, the Mets aren’t paying him to get walks. It was surprising to see him struggle mightily this weekend at Yankee Stadium, considering how friendly it is to left-handed power hitters. Overall, the Mets’ hitting has cooled off over the past week, and they look to get back on track in a hitter-friendly ballpark.
Right-hander Kodai Senga takes the mound for the New York Mets in the series opener. In his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, he pitched 5.2 innings and gave up one unearned run, while striking out seven batters. Senga has been solid in the month of May. In three starts this month, he has pitched 15.2 innings, giving up 12 hits, one earned run, and striking out 17 hitters. He does have 10 walks in those starts, which can get him into trouble at times.
Boston Red Sox
Rafael Devers has led the Boston Red Sox over the past week. He hit his first walk-off home run for the team over the weekend and has been mashing the baseball. In the past seven games, he is slashing .348/.444/.696 with two doubles, two home runs, and seven RBIs. The issue for the Red Sox has been blown saves. They have had 21 save opportunities and only converted 10 of them. It has led to some frustrating losses for the team over the first two months.
Right-hander Hunter Dobbins takes the mound for the Red Sox in the series opener. He had a rough outing against the Detroit Tigers last week. In 5.0 innings, he gave up nine hits and five earned runs, while striking out four. However, that was his worst start of the season. In four other starts, he has only given up seven earned runs, making him one of Boston’s top pitchers this season.

Prediction
The Mets’ offense was a little off at Yankee Stadium this weekend. Pair that with some stellar defensive plays by the Yankees, and it makes sense that the team lost two out of three. Boston’s offense is the scariest part of the team, but New York boasts a team ERA below 3.00. The Red Sox have been volatile this season, especially late in games. Give me a more consistent team.
