NBA DFS Main Slate: The Coach’s Starting Five, March 31, 2025

nba dfs

NBA DFS begins another week with an eight-game slate in the association on Monday. The Coach is here with his starting five and authentic insight from ‘inside the ropes. ‘  The NBA’s daily fantasy landscape is ever-changing, with last-minute injury designations and load management. Friday night’s recap: FanDuel’s $8k main slate pay line finished at 294.7 points. The starting five was submarined, with both Tobias Harris and Jamal Murray declared inactive. The remaining starters produced 98.2 fantasy points.

The starting lineup is designed to provide a core five around which you can construct your NBA DFS builds. We strive to recommend players who have the potential to be less owned and make an NBA DFS roster different from the masses. Your prominent studs are not always mentioned, and the fantasy point-per-game averages referenced are those across FanDuel scoring. See who the coach has in his NBA DFS starting lineup this evening.

NBA DFS Starting Guards

Jrue Holiday ($6k DraftKings and $5.6k FanDuel)

Jrue Holiday will start at point guard and should be a nice DFS value play. There are three games we want exposure to this evening, with the Boston-Memphis game being one. The 236 implied game total is the second-highest on the slate. Holiday, a DFS combo guard, provides us roster flexibility and has been a steady presence for the Celtics of late. In his last three starts. Over that span, he is seeing 31 minutes and averaging 25.6 fantasy points. Holiday will face the Grizzlies’ defense ranked just 22nd in fantasy production allowed to point guards. With Jaylen Brown a GTD due to a knee injury, Holiday’s situation may end up even better.

Colby White ($8.3k DraftKings and $8.2k FanDuel)

Another game we need exposure to is the Bulls-Thunder, which boasts a slate-high 240 implied game total. There is a blowout concern in this one with OKC favored by 15 points over the Bulls tonight, but White has been on a serious role of late. Over his last four starts, the NBA DFS combo guard has posted 44.63 fantasy points, 5 boards, and 4 dimes per game. White has the potential for another banger tonight, and Josh Giddey currently carries a GTD injury tag.

Bench Options: Tyrese Haliburton, Tyler Herro, Spencer Dinwiddie, Devin White

NBA DFS Starting Forwards

Desmond Bane ($8.5k DraftKings and $8.5k FanDuel)

Desmond Bane has been a regular in our lineup over the past week and will get the starting nod at small forward tonight. Bane gives us additional exposure to the Celtics-Grizzlies game and is eligible at shooting guard if needed. Bane went off for 48.8 fantasy points on Saturday night versus the Lakers. Tonight is not a green light matchup, as Memphis ranks sixth in fantasy points allowed to forwards, but Bane remains a key offensive cog for the Grizzlies, minus Ja Morant. Bane has scored at least 38 fantasy points in five of his last seven games, including two games north of 50.

Kyle Filipowski ($6.5k DraftKings and $6k FanDuel)

Kyle Filipowski will be tonight’s power forward in a green light matchup for multiple reasons. First, the Hornets are ranked in the bottom four in fantasy points allowed to power forwards. Next, with both John Collins and Walker Kessler declared out, Filipowski should be in line for major frontcourt minutes tonight. And lastly, the Jazz-Hornets are forecasted to be the slate’s most competitive game script with just a one-point spread. Filipowski comes off the 38.1 fantasy night on Friday against the Nuggets. In his last two games, he averaged 40.25 fantasy points, 10 rebounds and possessed dual-position DFS eligibility.

Bench Options: Austin Reaves, Amen Thompson, DeMar DeRozan, Pascal Siakam

NBA DFS Starting Center

Anthony Davis ($9.6k DraftKings and $10k FanDuel)

We are going to spend up for our starting center tonight and roster Anthony Davis. Now, keep in mind, he is currently listed as probable with the adductor injury, but that can change at any time with Davus coming off a soft tissue injury. Davis, in his two starts upon his return, is seeing 29 minutes and averaging 36.15 fantasy points. Those are not AD-type numbers, but he does sport a season average of 52.04 and still ranks as the overall C8. A blow-up game is coming as Dallas begins to increase his usage rate once he gets back into game shape. The Mavericks also remain competitive and currently possess a play-in spot.

Bench Options: Domantis Sabonis, Bam Adebayo, Kel’el Ware, Myles Turner

Final Thoughts

The obvious studs are not always mentioned. Our bench options provide followers, much the same as a coach, additional green light plays, last-minute injury replacements, and flexibility for your NBA DFS build. We strive to balance studs and value plays that may be potentially less owned. Pay attention to implied team and game totals and try to get roster exposure to those games.

The top DFS builds will consist of the right balance between studs and value options that pay at least 5x-6x their salaries. Good luck with your roster builds, and please like and follow us on social mediaPlease double-check our player recommendations once all inactives are announced.
