NBA DFS Main Slate Preview: The Coach’s Starting Five, March 26, 2025

dfs

NBA DFS continues on Wednesday evening with a smaller six-game slate. The Coach is here with his starting five and authentic insight from ‘inside the ropes. ‘ The NBA’s daily fantasy landscape is ever-changing, with last-minute injury designations and load management. Last night’s recap: FanDuel’s $18k main slate pay line finished at 280.7 points, and the starting five produced 168.5 fantasy points.

The starting lineup is designed to provide a core five around which you can construct your NBA DFS builds. We strive to recommend players who have the potential to be less owned and make an NBA DFS roster different from the masses. Your prominent studs are not always mentioned, and the fantasy point-per-game averages referenced are those across FanDuel scoring. See who the coach has in his NBA DFS starting lineup this evening.

NBA DFS Starting Guards

Tyrese Haliburton ($8.4k DraftKings and $9.2k FanDuel)

Tyrese Haliburton is the floor general tonight and will lead the starting five. We need to be invested in the Lakers-Pacers game that boasts a slate-high 235 implied game total. Haliburton ranks as the overall fantasy PG4 at 41.14 points per game. He has put up an average of 47.45 fantasy points and 11.5 dimes in his last two starts. On top of that, he is forecast to play in a competitive game script with just a 2.5-point spread separating Los Angeles and Indiana tonight.

Jamal Murray ($8.6k DraftKings and FanDuel)

Jamal Murray will be at the two guard position tonight. The DFS combo guard gets the green light versus the Bucks, who allow the eighth-most fantasy points to the guard position. Murray, a DFS combo guard, ranks as the overall PG8, scoring 39.04 fantasy points a game. Over his last two starts, he is averaging 49.4 fantasy points and 7 assists. Additionally, using Murray gives us exposure to a Nuggets team, whose 115.25 implied team total is a slate top-4.

Bench Options: Luka Doncic, Jrue Holiday, Jared Butler, Tyler Kolek (If Miles McBride is out)

NBA DFS Starting Forwards

Kyle Kuzma ($5.9k DraftKings and FanDuel)

With us spending up at both guard spots, we needed some salary relief within the rest of our NBA DFS roster build. Kyle Kuzma will enter the starting lineup at small forward. With Damian Lillard sidelined indefinitely with the blood clot in his calf, he should be due a usage bump. Kuzma is set to face a Denver team that yields the ninth most fantasy points to the forward position.

Kuzma has seen at least 31 minutes of game action in four straight games. Over that span, he is averaging just under 30 fantasy points, 6 boards, and 3 assists per game. In addition, we get exposure to the slate’s third-highest implied game total.

Kristaps Porzingis ($8.4k DraftKings and $8.1k FanDuel)

With Jayson Tatum doubtful tonight versus the Suns, Kristaps Porzingis will man the power forward spot this evening. He set to face a Suns team that ranks 21st in fantasy points allowed to the position. Porzingis is fresh off Monday’s 37.6 fantasy performance versus Sacramento, and before that, he posted back-to-back games of 50 or more fantasy points. He provides us positional flexibility within our builds, being able to slot in at center if necessary. Boston-Phoenix is set to play in a competitive game script and boasts a decent 223 implied game total.
Bench Options: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Quentin Grimes, Devin Booker

NBA DFS Starting Center

Alex Sarr ($6.3k DraftKings and $6.6k FanDuel)

Brooke Lopez continues to be a viable DFS option at center, but we will pivot away from him because we are rostering Kuzma. Alex Sarr will get the starting nod at center. He continues to be a terrific DFS value play at just $6.6k. Over his last seven starts, he has averaged 35.83 fantasy points and 6 rebounds per game. Tonight, he will face the Sixers who allow the third most points to the center spot. We need a piece of the Wizards-Sixers that has the slate’s second-highest implied game total and a very competitive three-point spread.

Bench Options: Nikola Jokic, Brook Lopez, Nic Claxton, Al Horford

Final Thoughts

The obvious studs are not always mentioned. Our bench options provide followers, much the same as a coach, additional green light plays, last-minute injury replacements, and flexibility for your NBA DFS build. We strive to balance studs and value plays that may be potentially less owned. Pay attention to implied team and game totals and try to get roster exposure to those games.

The top DFS builds will consist of the right balance between studs and value options that pay at least 5x-6x their salaries. Good luck with your roster builds, and please like and follow us on social mediaPlease double-check our player recommendations once all inactives are announced.
