The second half of the MLB baseball season has started and It is the mid week of week 18 for MLB fantasy baseball. Fantasy teams are rolling and add/drops are crucial to make a playoff run this season to hopefully go all the way to the championship game. As players get injured and players start to not have the performance they have had during the course of the season that is when waiver wire pick-ups become very important in fantasy sports. The Minnesota Twins right handed pitcher David Festa was recalled into the majors from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday. He is set to be the relief pitcher rather than the traditional starter. He has played two games with the Twins already this season. He had seven strikeouts in 4 innings on relief against the Phillies Wednesday. 

The Oakland A’s 2nd baseman Zack Gelof remains red hot over the past 8 games. Gelof has 3 home runs, 6 RBI’s and 11 stolen bases. Between his ability to score runs, hit home runs and steal bases he has helped his team win games. 

Tyler Fitzgerald, San Francisco’s outfielder has 5 home runs, 7 RBI’s, 8 runs and 6 walks in his last 6 games. He has been a force for the Giants and will be a great waiver wire pick up for this week if there is a chance on getting him on the roster for the end of the week 

The Miami Marlins pitcher A.J Puk has not allowed a run since June 17th that is 16 innings with no runs. Puk’s ERA 0.42 and 25 strikeouts. The Marlins  have beaten one of the best teams in the MLB. They beat the  Orioles this past week by winning the series  2-1.

These players can help a roster bulk up for a playoff run in any fantasy league whether is standard, dynasty or daily fantasy games. Having back up pitchers, hitters and catchers can help in the rotation of your roster. 

It is also important to see the prospects that might be recalled and moved up in the major leagues by teams. This is due to injuries that have occurred or simply a member on a team not doing well. The Mariners have placed two players J.P Crawford and Julio Rodriguez on the injured list. The New York Mets have also placed Christian Scott on the injured list with a UCL sprain in his right elbow.
