We are back for another MLB parlay tonight. We narrowly missed hitting Tuesday night, missing by half a run on the Dodgers’ play. Our season total now sits at 5-4 ATS overall.
If you followed us during the NFL and NCAA basketball seasons, you know our selections target games seeing respected money or those where Vegas books have a heavy liability. In other words, the betting outcome that Vegas books need to profit on the day. The betting lines discussed are the consensus at Vegas Insider and are subject to change.
Parlay Leg 1: Cleveland Indians ML + 110
The opening leg of today’s parlay is the Cleveland Indians over the Detroit Tigers. We spot some sharp money on the Tigers here with our initial play. They are seeing 79% of the spread tickets and 85% of the money, and yet the line has moved in the direction Indians. Our followers know that reverse line movement is a staple play of ours.
Detroit has no doubt been fantastic this year, sitting at 33-17 SU. However, the Tigers are just 3-7 SU in the last 10 overall against the Indians and 2-3 SU in the last five. On the Indians’ side, they are 6-4 SU as an underdog in the last 10 for +1.45 units. Give us the Cleveland Indians on the moneyline for play number one.
Parlay Leg #2: Pittsburgh Pirates ML + 102
The middle leg of today’s parlay will be the Pittsburgh Pirates over the Milwaukee Brewers. No, we are not crazy backing a team sitting at 17-33 SU on the season. The Pirates, the same as Cleveland, are seeing sharp money come in on them. Milwaukee is getting 69% of the spread bets and 81% of the money, and the line continues to move in the Pirates’ direction.
The opening line of +125 is currently sits at +102. Pittsburgh has won two of their last three games and are 3-2 SU on their last five at home. Despite the shoddy SU record, they are 6-4 ATS in the last 10 overall. We will take the Pittsburgh Pirates on the moneyline over a Milwaukee team that has won just two of their last five on the road.
Parlay Leg # 3: Nationals/Braves over 8.5
For today’s anchor leg, we will go with a total bet and take over 8.5 runs in the Nationals-Braves tilt. We have seen the total jump a full point in this one from 7.5 to its current 8.5. There is some public money on the over, but sharp money is certainly present to move that number a full run.
Washington has played to over two of three and six of the last ten games. Atlanta has not played to the over from a betting standpoint this season, but Washington scheduled starter Trevor Williams sports a hefty 5.91 ERA this season. We will take our chances and go over 8.5 total runs in this game to close today’s MLB parlay.
Final Thoughts
The beauty of our parlays is that we can provide you with three selections. Remember, in addition to the parlay, we will always play these picks SU because parlays are not a long-term profitable betting strategy. We look to avoid public plays, which tend to be the betting favorites. Please follow us on social media as the Major League Baseball season continues its long journey toward the Fall Classic.
