We make our return after a long absence for another MLB parlay tonight. Our season total sits at 3-3 ATS since our most recent parlay play in March. It is great to be back with our Total Apex followers. If you followed us during the NFL and NCAA basketball seasons, you know our selections target games seeing respected money or those where Vegas books have a heavy liability. In other words, the betting outcome that Vegas books need to profit on the day. The betting lines discussed are the consensus at Vegas Insider and are subject to change.
Parlay Leg #1: Washington Nationals ML
The first leg of today’s MLB parlay will be the Washington Nationals over the Atlanta Braves. We spotted some sharp money coming in on Washington in this one. The Braves are seeing 74% of the spread bets and nearly 60% of the money, and yet the line is moving in the Nationals’ direction. Washington has won their last three SU overall and 4-1 in their last five.
The Nationals are also 6-4 SU in their last 10 on the road and long term, a profitable 22-19 ATS. On the other side, Atlanta is just 4-6 SU in their last 10 overall and just 4-6 in their last 10 as a favorite. We will back the Nationals on the money line in game number one.
Parlay Leg #2: Philadelphia Phillies Team Total over 5.5
The middle leg of our parlay will be the Philadelphia Phillies team total over 5.5. Instead of laying the big number with the heavily favored Phillies, we will play on the team total. The Phillies-Rockies 10.5 implied game total is tied for a slate high, so runs are expected in this, and obviously, Coors Field is a terrific setting for runs.
The over is 7-3 in the Rockies’ last 10 at home, and Colorado’s projected starter, Antonio Senzatela, brings a hefty 6.79 ERA in tonight’s match-up. Philadelphia dropped nine on the Rockies last night, and we expect more of the same this evening. We went with the alternate line and will play on the over 5.5 team total for play number two.
Parlay Leg #3: Los Angeles Dodgers Team Total over 4.5
The anchor leg of today’s parlay will be the Los Angeles Dodgers’ team total over 4.5 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Similar to the Phillies-Rockies tilt, we will play on the team total of the heavily favored Dodgers. Los Angeles is projected to face Diamondbacks starter Rhyne Nelson brings a 5.13 ERA into the game. Los Angeles is on a four-game slide and will look to get back on track.
The over has hit in the Dodgers’ last three straight overall and 4 of the last five. The Dodgers, despite taking the loss last, still plated 5 runs and are averaging 8 runs per game in their last six contests. Again, we go to the alternate team total and get the number down to 4.5. Give us the Dodgers team total over 4.5 to close out today’s MLB parlay of the day.
Final Thoughts
The beauty of our parlays is that we can provide you with three selections. Remember, we will also play these picks SU on the money line because parlays are not a long-term profitable betting strategy. We look to avoid public plays, which tend to be the betting favorites.
