Key Stats
San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants are struggling to find their rhythm at the plate this season as they are 24th in the bigs with a .230/.309/.369 team slash line while scoring 4.07 runs per game. At the plate though, they are patient as they are fourth in the sport with 342 total walks drawn. Left fielder Heliot Ramos has been hitting at a strong level as he has a .768 OPS with 14 home runs, 47 RBI, 50 runs scored, and five stolen bases on nine attempts.
Right-hander Logan Webb is going to be taking the mound for the San Francisco Giants for Saturday’s game and is stepping up thus far as he is 9-6 with a 2.94 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP in 125.2 innings of work. Hitters are struggling to make contact off him with a .250 opposing batting average. Webb faced the Blue Jays once last season in a losing effort as he pitched five innings and gave up seven runs on eight hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays are doing a good job at the dish as they are 10th in MLB with a .734 team OPS while averaging 4.58 runs per game. Their lineup has a respectable amount of power as their 101 combined homers put them in 19th place in the bigs. Right fielder George Springer is leading the way as he has a .276/.367/.493 slash line with 16 home runs, 53 RBI, 53 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases without being caught.
The Toronto Blue Jays are sending lefty Eric Lauer to the hill and pitched well in his first 14 games (eight starts), he is 4-2 with a 2.78 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP in 55.0 innings of work. He has been able to keep the ball in the park as he has allowed six home runs or better than one every nine innings up to this point. Lauer has not faced the Giants since 2022 so this will be an intriguing matchup.

Prediction
Logan Webb has been one of the premier pitchers in Major League Baseball and outside of one inning, these teams did not score at all. Both bullpens were relatively unharmed on Friday as Tristan Beck pitched 4.1 innings for the San Francisco Giants to save the other relievers while Chris Bassitt pitched 6.1 innings for the Toronto Blue Jays to give the middle relievers a day off. San Francisco doesn’t score too well this season so take the under as the better play.
