With the Fourth of July week ending to the weekend, this slate of MLB DFS games will be fun to see. This Friday’s 15-game slate will end the week with a fiery amount of fantasy action. July‘s first week ends with a bang, and so will your fantasy cash prizes this Friday afternoon.
One of Friday’s feature games for today’s MLB DFS pools is the start of the New York Mets going to Pittsburgh to face the Pirates. Another fantasy game for players tonight is the Houston Astros against the Minnesota Twins.

July 5th MLB DFS Best Starts
1B Ryan Mountcastle, Baltimore Orioles at Oakland Athletics ($4,300 – DraftKings)
For MLB DFS fantasy players to keep the July Fourth weekend going, getting Ryan Mountcastle is a must. Mountcastle went 1-3 in the loss against the Mariners yesterday afternoon.
While the loss was a stinker, the O’s are still one of the hotter teams in the American League. Fantasy players could see a multi-homer game from Mountcastle against a weak A’s pitching staff. Getting Mountcastle this low could get you plenty of cash today.
2B Jonathan India, Detroit Tigers at Cincinnati Reds ($4,000 – DraftKings)
Another player to have in your fantasy lineup this weekend is Jonathan India of the Reds. Yesterday in the win against the Yankees, Jonathan India went 3-5, including a three-run home run.
While the Reds have been inconsistent this season, India has stepped up for the team. Jonathan India has been great for the Reds this season and could benefit fantasy owners this Friday.
3B Isaac Paredes, Tampa Bay Rays at Texas Rangers ($4,200 – DraftKings)
For the last MLB DFS start for the night, Isaac Paredes could be a strong player for fantasy players. In the win against Kansas City, Paredes went 1-4 with an RBI.
Paredes has been an underrated player for the Rays and could get a multi-hit game tonight. Fantasy players should now get Paredes for his price range to win some nice cash prizes.
July 5th MLB DFS Sits
OF Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers ($5,700 – DraftKings)
For one of the fantasy benching tonight, Christian Yelich should be one of them. During the loss against the Rockies, Yelich went 0-3 with a run. While Yelich numbers look good, he has missed many games due to injury.
There is also the inconsistency of Yelich after he came back to the lineup for the Brewers. Fantasy players should be cautious of Yelich until further notice.
OF Brent Rooker, Baltimore Orioles at Oakland Athletics ($4,800 – DraftKings)
One of the MLB DFS benchings for tonight should be Brent Rooker. In the win against the Angels, Rooker went 2-3 with an RBI. While Rooker is a great bat for the A’s, they will face a top-tier pitching staff.
Rooker should not be in your lineups for fantasy players right now due to the Orioles’ strong pitching. There is a chance that Rooker could struggle with multiple strikeouts.
OF Corbin Carroll, Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres ($4,800 – DraftKings)
To end this Friday’s MLB DFS sits tonight, Corbin Carroll should not be near a lineup. In the win against the Dodgers, Carroll went 1-5 with a run at Los Angeles.
This season has been a nightmare for Carroll, and should not be in any fantasy lineups tonight. Even against the Padres this season, Carroll has been a liability for the Diamondbacks and fantasy players.
July 5th MLB DFS Best Stack
For this Friday night, the MLB DFS stack of the Baltimore Orioles, Ryan Mountcastle, Jordan Westburg, and Anthony Santander. The Orioles are getting hot in July even with a loss against the Mariners. Baltimore will face the Oakland A’s with the team being a complete clown show. There is a chance that all of these hitters could hit a home run tonight.
Even with a weak game on Thursday, the O’s could bounce back with these players. Mountcastle has been a consistent hitter for the Orioles along with Westburg. Even with his struggles, Anthony Santander could have a strong game tonight.
