Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves DFS February 27, 2025

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers are two of the most exciting teams to watch in the NBA. Anthony Edwards is making a case for the future face of the league as a Timberwolf, whereas the recently acquired Luka Doncic just put on a clinic for his old team. While plenty of fans are familiar with the stars that will appear in this game, there are some other side players who are also poised to have high-scoring performances as well.

Lakers vs. Timberwolves Start Em’

Anthony Edwards (Draft Kings Price 9.1K, FanDuel Price 9.7K)

Not too many teams can afford to lose a Karl Anthony-Towns and still be a threat in their conference. The Timberwolves can do precisely that, though, simply because they can lean on Anthony Edwards. His last game against the Thunder was a bit of an aberration, but ignoring that, he scores 25+ a game. The Lakers don’t have a defender that can lock down Antman (unless they want to throw Lebron at him), so chances are he pops off in this game.

Jaden McDaniels (Draft Kings Price 6.9K, FanDuel Price 6.5K)

McDaniels can go under the radar at times because he is playing next to Anthony Edwards. When McDaniels touches the ball, though, he can still create a good shot, whether by driving to the hole or shooting from the perimeter. McDaniels scored over 20 in three of the past five games, so it is likely he will do the same against LA.

Austin Reaves (Draft Kings Price 7.6K, FanDuel Price 8K)

Despite adding another ball handler to the squad, Austin Reaves has shown he can still get his numbers while his teammates score as well. Reaves dropped 20 in Luka’s revenge game against the Mavericks. One thing that is nice to see is that Reaves drives into the paint a bit more. He is becoming more than an outside shooter, and DFS players should always have an eye on him because he will cost less than other shooting guards like Bradley Beal and Anthony Edwards.

Lakers vs. Timberwolves Sit Em’

Jackson Hayes (Draft Kings Price 4.1K, FanDuel Price 4.5K)

Looking at the Lakers play ball, it’s easy to be impressed by Hayes. He is already catching alley-oops from Luka and easy passes when Lebron and others are going to the rim. Statistically, though, he doesn’t perform well enough for a DFS start. Hayes has scored in single digits for the past 6 games. He just doesn’t get enough numbers that would suggest he would be a DFS start.

Cam Reddish (Draft Kings Price 3.1K, FanDuel Price  3.5K)

The bad thing about the Lakers adding more talent to the roster is that Cam Reddish’s role on the team becomes less and less. This perhaps culminated in the game against Boston where he only got 3 minutes on the court. Players might have to wait for an injury or a trade to see Reddish really shine, but he won’t be a good play for DFS for a while.

Mike Conley (Draft Kings Price 4.7K, FanDuel Price 4.4K)

Mike Conley is living proof that you can be a great basketball player but not necessarily good for DFS. He has tons of qualities a coach would want: quick, high IQ, can pass, play defense, etc. Unfortunately, he is also averaging 8 points per game on the season. Therefore, he simply doesn’t get enough points to be worthy of a DFS start, but still is a great player to watch.

Lakers vs. Timberwolves Lock

Luka Doncic (Draft Kings Price 11K, FanDuel Price 11.8K)

Although some fans were scratching their heads at the trade, it’s clear that Luka looks right at home in LA. He is tossing up alley-oops to his teammates, throwing behind-the-back passes to Austin Reaves, and (perhaps most importantly) gelling with Lebron. Despite the fact that his last game was a revenge tour, Luke is capable of putting up those numbers any night he is on the court.

Lakers vs. Timberwolves Fade

Joe Ingles (Draft Kings Price 3K, FanDuel Price 3.5K)

It’s kind of sad to watch Ingles’ numbers continuously go downward. It was only 2021 when he was knocking down 3s for the Utah Jazz, and now he barely sees the court. It would be nice to see him shoot from distance the way he used to, but he won’t get enough minutes to be good for DFS.
