New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets Preview, Prediction & Odds | April 13, 2025

New York Knicks parlay

The New York Knicks wrap up their regular season in Brooklyn as they travel to the Nets on Sunday. The Knicks have already clinched the 3rd seed going into this contest, but they still have something to play for. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau wants to see a more complete effort from his team going into the playoffs.

New York has won 50 games coming into Sunday, but their coach is still concerned after his team blew a 23-point lead in a 108-102 loss to Cleveland. Brooklyn has faced a vast number of injuries this season, especially after the all-star break. The 55 loss Nets will still face the in town rivals on a three game losing skid this Sunday as they could look to make a statement and win a morale victory in the last game of the season.

Knicks Coach Has Concerns Going into Playoffs

New York is currently set to face the 6th seed Detroit Pistons in the first round of the playoffs. The Knicks have made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2011-2013 and are pursuing their first Eastern Conference championship appearance since 2000. Detroit took three in a row from New York in the four-game regular season series, and coach Thibodeau would like to see his team gain some momentum going into the series.

\”We got to be honest with ourselves, look at what we did wrong, \”said Thibodeau to reporters after the Knicks’ last game. \”We got to get it fixed, and we got to get it fixed fast.\”, he continued after his team had blown a 23-point lead to the number 1 seed Cleveland Cavaliers in that game.

New York has also dealt with some roster shuffles, with Karl Anthony-Towns missing Friday’s game due to a knee injury. Jalen Brunson returned to the lineup two games ago against Boston and put up 27 points in both of the Knicks’ previous contests.

Nets Young Talent Shows Promise of a Potential Core

\"Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Nets may not be a playoff team this season, and this may be the last time that the young core of emerging players for the Nets get to showcase their talents for us this year. The group has played well with an injury-ridden season this year, despite what the record shows for it.

Drew Timme has been emerging as a double-double threat lately. He has had a double-double in 6 of his last eight games. All five of the Nets starters scored in double digits in the Nets’ loss to the Timberwolves on Friday. Many of Brookyln’s role players have also had the opportunity to showcase their skills late in the season, like guard Cam Thomas.

Among them is Reece Beekman, who has come off the bench for double-digit scores recently against both Toronto and Minnesota. The Nets could look to play spoiler and damage the psyche of the Knicks here in the final game of the season, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
