Jazz Chisholm Jr. had an eventful 2024, to say the least. After a slow start to his season in Miami, he had a strong second half, especially after being traded to the Yankees at the trade deadline. Chisholm has a lot of positional versatility on the defense side of the ball, which means he’ll see a lot of playing time. This should mean his potential fantasy value will always be on the strong side of the plate. The former Marlin will be a key part of the Yankees this year with the departure of Juan Soto. Speaking of Production let’s look at the 2024 Production.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. 2024 Production
Chisholm Jr. had 144 hits, 24 HR, 73 RBIs, and 40 SB, with a .256 AVG, and .324 OBP with the Marlins and Yankees last season. His advanced numbers were also a huge standing point as well especially after he was traded to the Yankees. His Home Run Percentage went from 3.0% with the Marlins in 2024, to 5.9% with the Yankees after the trade.
His WAR was at 2.7 with a 1.5 with the Yankees alone. Jazz did have a dip in overall production last season but the optimism is there for the upcoming season as an everyday player for a strong contender in the league as he had 11 homers and 18 steals with the pinstripes in 46 regular season games.
The trade to the Yankees is one of those deals that could revive his career to its 2022 All-Star Form, as I laid out last year on the site. His career was rejuvenated when he helped New York reach the World Series for the first time since 2009. Let’s look at his 2025 Projections and Fantasy Rankings.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. 2025 Projections
ESPN has Chisholm Jr. as the 29th-ranked Batter in their rankings as he is projected to have similar numbers as he finished with the following stat line: 24 HRs, 70 RBIs, 33 SBs, with a .253 average, and a .766 OPS. I think that Jazz will outperform his projections in a full season with the Pinstripes because the short porch out in right will be a huge benefit for him as a lefty hitter meaning more home run potential.
Plus having a full year having a talented lineup with him now will have a huge impact on his production in general as he’ll be pitched a lot differently for the whole time and his Yankees numbers were good in the short sample size last season, especially without Juan Soto players like Chisholm Jr. need to step up in the lineup this season. Thus this makes him a potential Boom player if drafted as the 29th-ranked player like ESPN has him as.
Conclusion
I love Chisholm Jr. in this year’s fantasy baseball redraft and DFS because he has the potential with his power and speed to be a strong piece to a dangerous Yankees team this upcoming season especially if he stays healthy. After all, if he stays healthy he will be one of those players that will be a surprise asset in fantasy this year with the potential to be a top-15 batter in fantasy in my opinion if he stays consistent like he was in the short sample size last season in New York.
