Fantasy Football Tight Ends Start’em, Sit’em| Week 7

With tight ends making their biggest statement of the season, that means it can be a position that can be more reliable for fantasy owners. While that might seem to be the case, it still is a position that is one to monitor on a weekly basis. Start and sits can be the most important part of the week because the majority of fantasy owners can’t start the same tight end every single week. This all means how important this part of the week is and most fantasy owners understand the risks they have to take at the position.

Tight Ends Start’em: Week 7

Falcons TE Kyle Pitts

Kyle Pitts is back. After being told that he is a bust since the moment his NFL career started, Pitts had lived up to that hype but not over the last couple weeks. Pitts and quarterback Kirk Cousins have been seeing having a lot more dialogue during games which even saw Cousins tell him last week that he will get the ball.

Pitts after a zero catch game in week four has had two good games in a row. Pitts 15.8 fantasy points in week five and 10 in week six. The trend is looking up for Pitts and this Falcons offense. With a week seven matchup with Seattle, this one could be a shootout which means to definitely keep Pitts in your lineup.

Lions TE Sam LaPorta

The Lions tight end might have just caught one pass in week six but it was for a 52 yard touchdown in the Lions dominating victory over the Cowboys. Obviously, fantasy owners want to seem him more in the action but at the same time, fantasy owners would also kill to have 12.2 fantasy points from their tight end.

LaPorta is on a stacked offense and a lot of players need the ball every week. But for fantasy purposes, he is still not lost in the offense and is featured enough. The Lions will be facing off against the Vikings and this is another game that could see a lot of points. With that being said, it is a good idea to start the former Iowa tight end.

Tight Ends Sit’em: Week 7

Browns TE David Njoku

This might be one of the easiest sits that I have written about this season. The Browns have one of the worst offenses in the league with a quarterback who has regressed to a shocking level. Two things would point in the direction to start him this week.

One, Cleveland is playing the Bengals who have one of the worst defenses against the pass and the Browns traded number one receiver Amari Cooper which should open up targets for the tight end. But, Watson hasn’t proved all year that he is a capable quarterback. Until the Browns even start to look like a mediocre offense, it is tough to start any Cleveland pass catchers.

Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth

The Steelers have one of the most difficult offenses to watch in the NFL. They might be 4-2 but watching them play every week, that record doesn’t tell the whole story. Pittsburgh’s tight end has had a real solid season even with the offense not even close to humming this week.

Pittsburgh still hasn’t named their starting quarterback for Sunday nights game against the Jets. This game feels like it could be one of the more low scoring games of week seven with the defenses that both teams posses. Until you know who the quarterback, this is a player who shouldn’t be in your lineups this week.
