Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| October 27, 2024

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins Week 7

The Atlanta Falcons travel down to Raymond James Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a rematch from Week 5 that gave fans an overtime thriller. Both teams came into this game with a 4-3 record and suffered tough losses in Week 7. The Bucs are coming off a 10-point loss to reigning MVP Lamar Jackson, and the Falcons are coming off a 20-point home loss to the Seahawks. The winner of this game takes control of the NFC South and both teams need a big win to turn things around this week.

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White

Rachaad White is coming off one of the best games of his career against one of the best teams in the league, the Baltimore Ravens. Last week White had 40 rushing yards, 71 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns, and a massive 29.1 fantasy points. Atlanta has still not fixed their run defense and they rank in the bottom 10 run defenses in the NFL. With Atlanta’s poor run defense and White coming off a big game expect another good start from him.

Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson has been on fire the last two weeks and ranks as the RB6. In the last two games, Robinson has 198 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns, and 48.8 fantasy points. Robinson has been great this year and does not have a game under 10 fantasy points. The Bucs’ run defense is in the bottom half of the NFL, so expect a big day from Bijan Robinson.

Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense

The Buccaneers’ defense ranks as the D/ST 26 and only has two games of over 4 fantasy points. This game will most likely be a shootout considering their first meeting combined for 66 points. Both teams have a weak run defense, and below-average defenses overall, do not pick up the Bucs D this week.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins

When these teams met in week five Kirk Cousins threw for 509 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 43 fantasy points. Captain Kirk showed out in their last matchup, but that was at home, and this is an away game against a good Bucs team. Kirk will not have a terrible game, but recently he has been turning the ball over more than he should, and it is not panning out for the Falcons. Cousins has turned the ball over in every game this season except two, sit Cousins this week.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London

I said three weeks ago that Drake London is becoming a superstar right in front of our eyes, and nothing has changed. London ranks as the WR3. Aside from an anomaly in week one, London is averaging 19.9 fantasy points per game. In his last three games, London has averaged 97 receiving yards, 8 catches, a touchdown, and 23.7 fantasy points. The Bucs allow the fourth most passing yards in the league, expect a big game from London.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Atlanta Falcons Defense

With all the additions the Falcons made to their defense this offseason, ranking as the D/ST22 is not what they would have expected. The Bucs come into this game averaging 29.9 points per game and have the fifth-best offense in the league. Baker Mayfield has been slinging the ball, expect another high-scoring affair between these teams. Sit the Falcons defense.

Conclusion

This is a very important week for both teams as this game decides who will take the lead of the NFC South. Both teams have been firing on offense so this game has the potential to be another shootout. Both teams also have lackluster defenses so with the combination of great offenses and poor defenses this game will see offenses excelling. The injuries to Mike Evans and Chris Godwin tilt the favor to the Falcons and they will probably edge this close matchup out even against the Bucs home-field advantage, but this should be a fun game to watch.
