The Atlanta Falcons find themselves traveling to Philadelphia on Monday night for the entire country to watch. The Falcons had a tough Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers who did not score a touchdown.
Whereas, the Eagles had a great start to their season with a Week 1 victory in Brazil on an international stage. The Falcons’ offensive saw heavy usage in Bijan Robinson, even though he did not find the success he was hoping for. The Eagles’ newest signee Saquon Barkley had a great game with over 100 rushing yards and three scores.
Atlanta Falcons vs Philadelphia Eagles DFS Start ‘Ems
Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons (DraftKings $6.1K)
Drake London only saw three targets come his way during the Sunday afternoon game in Atlanta, but the reason for this was Kirk Cousins had no time to throw the ball. Between Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt, Kirk Cousins was barely able to get the ball out only completing 16 passes. The Eagles do not have a T.J. Watt to disrupt things, so look for Kirk to be more comfortable in the pocket and target his tall receiver London.
A.J. Brown, WR, Philadelphia Eagles (DraftKings $7.9K)
A.J. Brown did his thing last week against the Packers hauling in 5 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown. This was enough for him to get 25.9 fantasy points in full PPR leagues. The Falcons looked vulnerable against the deep ball last week with George Pickens catching a 40-yard bomb, and having 85 yards on the day. With the number one corner A.J. Terrell most likely not shadowing A.J. Brown for the whole game look for Brown to rack up the yards.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Philadelphia Eagles DFS Sit ‘Ems
Kirk Cousins (DraftKings $6.0K)
Kirk Cousins did not look like his old self in his debut for the Falcons. Albeit he had nearly no time to get the ball out, his decision-making was poor, and he could have very easily had 3-4 interceptions. Kirk will bounce back and put up a better performance than last week, but I do not think he will eclipse 300 yards, and the Falcons love to feed Bijan in the red zone. This Eagles defense is no joke, and they have stars all over the field, look to sit Captain Kirk this week.
Jalen Hurts (DraftKings $7.2K)
Jalen Hurts did not play horribly against the Packers, but it was not good. Hurts had two interceptions and two fumbles (only one lost) and only completed 58.8 percent of his throws. Hurts had some questionable throws, and his decision-making could have been better, especially in the red zone. Hurts should bounce back and put up a better performance than last week, but I do not think he will find huge success against a solid Falcons defense.

Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles (DraftKings $7.5K)
Saquon looked like the answer to prayers for Eagles fans in Brazil. Barkley carried the ball 24 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. Three touchdowns against the Packers is nothing to write off as a fluke. Atlanta has a solid defense, but Kellen Moore seems determined to feed Saquon the ball, if Barkley gets 26 touches Monday night he will find success. He may not score 36.2 fantasy points again, but he will definitely have a solid night if the ball keeps coming his way.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons (DraftKings, $7.8K)
Bijan Robinson saw heavy usage against the Steelers, but he was not very efficient. He ran the ball 18 times for 68 yards averaging 3.78 yards per carry, and caught five passes for 43 yards. Fantasy owners love the usage Bijan is getting, but the numbers just are not adding up. For almost $8.0k this is too steep for a runningback facing a similar defense in a hostile environment on national television.
Conclusion
Look for both quarterbacks Kirk Cousins and Jalen Hurts to have bounce-back games, but I do not think this will be either of their peaks. Atlanta has shown to be weak against the deep ball, so A.J. Brown could thrive if running routes over the top, and in turn, this will open up the run game for Saquon Barkley to gash the Atlanta defense.
The Falcons will need to look to #1 WR Drake London to move the ball down the field, and if they can get some blocking for Kirk Cousins he should be able to find some success. Bijan is still an amazing young talent, but the Eagles’ defense will not budge easily.
