Emmanuel Clase 2024 Fantasy Outlook

The Cleveland Guardians’ close Emmanuel Clase continues to be one of the best closers of the last five years in baseball. In the MLB, it seems this is the one position with so much turmoil as it pertains to players leading specific categories.

One man who has been at the top of many statistics for relief pitchers has been Clase which has made him a very valuable asset in fantasy when many relier pitchers certainly do not. With the Guardians being a top team in baseball, having this man rostered is of the utmost importance.

Coming into this week, Clase is second in baseball behind St. Louis Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley in saves. The Guardians closer has 38 while Helsley has 40. Overall on the season, Clase is 4-2 with a 0.6 ERA and a 0.65 WHIP. He was also selected to his third consecutive All-Star game.

Clase has not allowed an earned run in August which is a total of 10 appearances. In the month as a whole, Clase has given up a mere five hits and has struck out nine. Clase has never been better in his career and that has helped the Guardians to be one of the strongest teams in baseball. If you haven’t grabbed him in your leagues, now is the time to grab the closer from Cleveland.

The Guardians are currently 20 games over .500 and have a three-game lead for the American League Central over the Kansas City Royals. In the A.L. as a whole, the Guardians are the second seed and are two games behind the New York Yankees for the one seed.

Rest of Season Outlook

Clase is one of the best closers and is on one of the best teams in baseball. He has many opportunities to showcase why he is such a great closer and for fantasy, that tracks. This is what makes having Clase a fantastic pick. Closers aren’t valued more than starting pitchers but they have more opportunities to put points on the board.

Fantasy owners should realize how valuable it is to get a guaranteed 20-30 points a week from a pitcher more than a starter who gets one start a week and you don’t know if it will be a great or awful start. Clase is so money at the moment that he is the most valuable relief pitcher in fantasy.

Clase is ranked number one at his position in ESPN fantasy and he averages 6.3 points per outing. That’s a great number so with the Guardians in the hunt for the number one seed in the A.L., expect much more of Clase down the home stretch.
