The fantasy football draft season is in full swing and you should be targeting Dontayvion Wicks as a late-round pick. If you have already drafted, get to your waiver wire and add him as a bench stash. It is the middle to late rounds where the sharpest drafters win their leagues. With Wick’s current ADP of 61.4 (14.12), there is minimal risk and plenty of upside to having him on your 2024 fantasy football teams.
When you dive into Wick’s 2023 receiving numbers, you see the effectiveness and potential he brings to the Green Bay offense. Wicks was amongst the top Packers receivers in yards per target, yards per reception, and catch rate.

Despite being third in targets earned, Wicks led all Packers receivers with 10.0 yards per target. All three metrics were ranked first or second amongst Packer wide receivers. He showed durability playing in 15 games.
In contrast, his biggest competitor for targets, Christian Watson played in just 9. In addition, his five forced broken tackles led all Packer wideouts and tight ends. Wicks averaged 8.0 fantasy points per game, third best on the Packers, with just over half as many targets as their top two wideouts Reed and Doubs.
Dontayvion Wicks Year 2 Opportunity
The Packers have to consider giving Dontayvion Wicks more opportunity and target share in this year’s offense. He can be a mismatch when playing in the slot. It is evidenced here how the Packers can exploit him by formation and utilize his big play potential. Pairing him with Jayden Reed on the same side of the formation can be difficult for a defense. His ability to run a nine route will also open up the underneath routes, due to Wick’s potential to force defenses to roll coverage to him.
There is no clear alpha wide receiver in the Packer offense, which gives Dontayvion Wicks the clear year two opportunity. And perhaps the biggest factor of all, his quarterback is Jordan Love, who finished QB5 last season.
Final Thoughts on Dontayvion Wicks
As stated earlier, savvy fantasy owners will grab Dontayvion Wicks in the later rounds of their fantasy drafts. There is a path there for him to be the best of the Packer wideouts. The underlying metrics show the potential for a breakout. He has the size and athleticism to be a top 36 fantasy wide receiver who can easily outperform his current ADP.
Again, there is minimal risk and Wicks can be a boon to fantasy lineups that start multiple flex spots or three wideouts. And lastly, if his quarterback is currently drafted as QB11, then you have to be in on the Packer wideouts. Draft Dontayvion Wicks or scoop him off the waiver wire, you can thank me later.
