Miami Dolphins vs. Los Angeles Rams DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| Week 10

Week 10 Monday Night Football takes us to SoFi Stadium, as the 2-6 Miami Dolphins take on the 4-4 Los Angeles Rams. The Dolphins lost at Buffalo last week on a Tyler Bass field goal as time expired and now sit just half a game from last place in the AFC East. Miami played much better offensively last week two games with the return of Tua Tagovailoa, but still came up short in both games. The Rams have won three straight and are alive in the NFC West division, sitting just a half-game back of Arizona.

Here are a few of the players we are heavily leaning on in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance in a favorable matchup.

De’Von Achane ($7.1k DraftKings and $8k Fanduel)

De’Von Achane appears to have taken over the Miami backfield. Achane enters Week 10 as the overall PPR RB8. The Rams rank in the bottom half of the league versus the rush. It is this simple: When Tua started, Achane was RB2, RB3 twice, and RB6. In the games Tua missed, he finished no higher than RB26, including twice as RB50 or worse. In case you were not sure, Tua is starting this week.

Cooper Kupp ($7.7k DraftKings and $8.6k Fanduel)

Kupp does not have the greatest matchup this week, as the Dolphin’s pass defense has been top 12 in yards per attempt and passer rating since week five. We simply trust Kupp as a volume play in the Ram’s offense. Last week’s number was inflated with Nacua being ejected, but Kupp has 22 targets since returning and remains a focal point in Los Angeles’s passing offense.

Miami Dolphins vs. Los Angeles Rams DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we recommend sitting in this one.

Colby Parkinson ($3.5k DraftKings and $4.9k Fanduel)

In the last two weeks, Parkinson has just a 2.6% target share and is averaging less than 9 yards per game. Not much needs to be said, he is not startable even on a week with four teams on bye. Parkinson comes in as overall TE30 which puts him even outside the TE2 range and is not usable with the Rams at full strength.

Jaylen Waddle ($5.6k DraftKings and $6k Fanduel)

This was a tough call to make but Waddle has been a fringe start in DFS and season-long leagues. He has a decent matchup against a Rams defense that ranks bottom four in receiving yards and points allowed to perimeter wideouts. Keep in mind that Tua was out for multiple weeks, but in Waddle’s last three games, he has 6 catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. Jaylen Waddle is too risky a play for us and his DFS salary reflects his downward trend. However, Tyreek Hill missed practice Friday with a wrist injury, so you would pivot to Waddle if Hill is inactive.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Kyren Williams ($7.8k DraftKings and $8.7k Fanduel)

Kyren Williams is a must-start and worth the DFS salary he commands. Williams is the overall RB6 in PPR scoring, second in rushing touchdowns with eight, and second in rushes with 161. His volume, passing game usage, and goal-line opportunities make him a safe play for our DFS lock in this single-game slate. There is a reason Kyren has the highest DFS salary in this game!

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Demarcus Robinson ($5.1k DraftKings and $5.5k Fanduel)

We are not chasing the points this week with Demarcus Robinson. He greatly benefitted from Nacua’s absence and scored two touchdowns on six grabs. He also has four scores in the last two games and is due for touchdown regression. The Dolphins, as stated above, are good against the pass. They are among the top six in fantasy points and receiving yards allowed to perimeter wideouts. We are fading Robinson’s production this week.

Conclusion

This week’s Monday Night Clash features a 50.5 implied game total. That number is the highest in Week 10 total, outside of the Bengals-Ravens game on Thursday night. You will want to spend up at the running back spot even though they will be chalk plays. Jonnu Smith offers a nice pivot play from the masses, with the Rams being bottom six in receiving yards and fantasy points allowed to tight ends. If you want to save additional salary, rostering Tua Tagovailoa will still give you access to De’Von Achane.
