Tonight is the final game of the three-game series at Dodgers Stadium as the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Seattle Mariners. The Dodgers have already taken the first two games of the series and both teams have been playing on two different levels.
The Dodgers have been playing some great baseball as they have won seven of their last 10 and they are the number one seed in the National League. The Mariners on the other hand have lost seven of their last 10 and are 5 games out of the American League West.
Dodgers vs Mariners DFS Start’em
Seattle Mariners OF Victor Robles($5,800 on DraftKings)
Robles has been one of the hottest hitters for the Mariners over the last week even though as a team, they are an extremely hot and cold offense. Robles has had at least two hits in three of his last four games. After a really good start to his Dodgers career, Jack Flaherty has given up seven runs in his last two starts. Robles’s price has great value as he is one of the more consistent hitters on an inconsistent roster and against a very hittable pitcher.
Los Angeles Dodgers C Will Smith($8,200 on DraftKings)
The Dodgers catcher has been one of the more reliable players on the Dodgers this season but Smith has not broken out in a game since he hit a home run on August 13th against the Milwaukee Brewers. Smith has also had more off days of late as the Dodgers look at the bigger picture toward the postseason. It is only a matter of time that Smith gets himself going and that could start in the series ender. Logan Gilbert has not had a great season, especially coming off a tremendous 2023. Smith should be in the driver’s seat for a breakout game.
Dodgers vs Mariners DFS Sit’em
Seattle Mariners Outfielder Julio Rodriguez($7,800 on DraftKings)
Rodriguez has gotten a hit in four of his last five games but overall, the Mariners superstar outfielder has been plagued with injuries and inconsistent play all year which means starting him brings some real risk. J-Rod is having an extremely down year in all statistics and he has not proven to be able to sustain great play for a long time. It might be tempting to hop on his bandwagon now but fantasy players shouldn’t go all in just yet.
Los Angeles Dodgers OF Teoscar Hernandez($8,400)
There is no doubt that the acquisition of Hernandez has been an important move that has helped take the Dodgers offense to amazing heights. But since the All-Star break, the Dodgers All-Star has cooled off. He hasn’t plummeted but he has been stuck in neutral for the last two weeks. With the high value, it might be better to take a player who is playing in much better form to get that high value.
DFS Lock of the Game
Seattle Mariners C Cal Raleigh($7,000 on DraftKings)
The Mariners catcher has been one of the best surprises in baseball in the 2024 season. He has 27 home runs with 78 runs batted in. Raleigh is coming off of a two-hit performance last night and shockingly, none of those hits were home runs. With him getting hits that did not bring in huge production last night, this should unlock the power swing of Raleigh which makes him the lock of this matchup.
