David Pastrnak 2024-2025 Fantasy Outlook

David Pastrnak is an absolute superstar, in 2023 The Boston Bruins signed star David Pastrnak to an eight-year contract extension that will pay him $90 million, the sixth-largest deal in NHL history.

The deal locked up one of the league’s best goalscorers through the 2030-31 season for $11.25 million a season.

David Pastrnak scored the game 7 first round winner in Overtime vs the Toronto Maple Leafs, eliminating their rivals and showing he can step up in the biggest game and time.

David Pastrnak broke into the NHL in 2014-15 as an 18 year old, putting up 27 points in 46 games for the Bruins, for a 18 year old that’s a great season.

It wasn’t until 2016-17 where he put up a great season, at age 20 he put up 34 goals and 70 points in 75 games, almost a PPG at age 20.

2019-20 David Pastrnak put up nearly 50 goals, 48 goals and 95 points, and in 2022-23 season he put up 113 points! and a whopping 61 goals, the same season Pastrnak earned his massive contract extension from Boston.

David Pastrnak Last season

David Pastrnak had a remarkable 2023-24 season, he crushed the 100 point plateau again, with 110 points, less goals than 22-23 with 47 goals, but that’s still a ridiculous amount of goals, but he was a playmaking machine, as evidenced by his new career-high in assists.

David Pastrnak joined elite company. He became just the fifth player in Bruins history to have consecutive 100-point seasons. The only other Bruins to accomplish this feat were Bobby Orr (six seasons), Phil Esposito (five seasons), Adam Oates (two seasons), and Barry Pederson (two seasons).

Perhaps what makes this accomplishment for Pastrnak so impressive is that he is the first Bruin to have consecutive 100-point seasons during the salary cap era.

Boston Bruins Projected Lines

Line 1: (LW) Pavel Zacha – (C) Elias Lindholm – (RW) David Pastrnak

Line 2: – (LW) Brad Marchand – (C) Charlie Coyle – (RW) Fabian Lysell

Line 3: (LW) Trent Frederic – (C) Matthew Poitras – (RW) Morgan Geekie

Line 4: (LW) Max Jones -(C) John Beecher – (RW) Justin Brazeau.

The Boston Bruins signed Elias Lindholm to a seven-year, $52.5 million contract, Lindholm, 29, fills the Bruins’ need at center. The right-shot Lindholm scored 42 goals and 40 assists in 82 games for the Calgary Flames in 2022-23.

He will slot into play with David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha who will move back to the wing if these projections are right.

Final Thoughts

David Pastrnak’s talent speaks for itself, he’s absolutely amazing and easily worth drafting in Fantasy.

He will play with a very very good center in Elias Lindholm and Pavel Zacha who is a Czech Republic native like Pastrnak is, that’s a solid line for Pastrnak.

NHL.com has David Pastrnak listed as their 5th best forward in fantasy.

1. Connor McDavid, C, EDM

2. Nathan MacKinnon, C, COL

3. Nikita Kucherov, RW, TBL

4. Auston Matthews, C, TOR

5. David Pastrnak, RW, BOS

I absolutely agree with this ranking for Pastrnak, placing him as a first round pick, the top 3 were the top 3 in the MVP race for the 2023-24 season, and Auston Matthews scored the most goals in the NHL last season with 69 goals 12 more than 2nd place, so it’s fair David Pastrnak is ranked 5th, right behind him is Edmonton Oilers superstar Center Leon Draisaitl.
