Dallas Goedert 2024 Fantasy Outlook: Is Goedert an Elite TE?

Dallas Goedert

Dallas Goedert had a slow start last year in the 2023 season, not having a touchdown catch until the Rams game in Week Five last year. He had a stable productive top 15 season for fantasy last season for Tight Ends but his efficiency did drop drastically from 2022 like most Eagles had last season.

One of the main positive signs that Goedert will continue to be a top desired asset going into this Fantasy season even with those declines is the Kellen Moore offense. Moore’s offense will use the middle of the field more, along with the motion game as well, and we saw a career season from Gerald Everett last season in Moore’s system which should help Goedert out in 2024. Let us go back into the 2023 numbers a little bit more to see where Goedert faltered Fantasy wise.

Dallas Goedert 2023 Production

Goedert had 59 receptions for 592 yards and three touchdowns last season in midnight green. Goedert still hasn’t reached 60 receptions in his career as of yet and the broken forearm that cost him three games didn’t help his fantasy season be the most productive one in most fans’ eyes. In ESPN fantasy he had a total of 136.3 points which was behind players like Taysom Hill and Kyle Pitts for instance.

Fantasy Pros had Goedert as the TE 12 last season on all of their metrics with that stat line he had. As I said before his efficiency did go down a good amount from 2022, which is a product of the Eagles not using their players in the right spots a lot of the time in 2023 due to bad coaching on the offensive side of the ball all year long and Goedert was one of the main guys that was affected the most due to the bad coaching in 2023.

Dallas Goedert 2024 Projections

According to ESPN’s metrics, Goedert is projected to reach a new career high in receptions with 66 with 686 yards receiving and still haul in three touchdowns in 2024, which puts him as the TE13 this year on ESPN projections.

Meanwhile Fantasy Pros has Goedert as the TE11 right now in their rankings. Goedert has the fourth easiest strength of schedule according to Fantasy Pros meaning he could see bigger numbers if the defenses they face play tight ends like they did last season.

If Goedert doesn’t get hurt in 2024, he could be in for a huge season because of the motion offense that Kellen Moore likes to run, which incorporates every skill position on the field a lot and also uses the Tight Ends best friend a lot of the time the middle of the field. I think Kellen Moore can get the South Dakota State version of Goedert in his offense if used correctly in this offense with these weapons on the outside in Philly.

Final Thoughts

Dallas Goedert could have a huge year especially if defense start to key in on AJ Brown and Devonta Smith more knowing that they’re the more dangerous threats in the passing game for Philadelphia. I think Goedert is going to end up being TE10 this season because I think that he’ll get 5 touchdowns along with the 66 receptions that ESPN is projecting for him. I would draft Goedert at his ADP right now on both ESPN and Yahoo leagues especially if you have a need for the tight end spot late in your drafts if you missed out on guys like Laporta, Kelce, or Kittle.
