L. Ortiz (R) vs. A. Abbott (L)
Where to Watch: MLB.TV
The Cleveland Guardians look to avoid the sweep against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. Cleveland’s offense failed to show up yet again as the team dropped its third straight. Cincinnati has a chance to get back to .500 on the season, and they are sending in one of their hottest pitchers. Andrew Abbott has been stellar in the month of May and will look to finish the series with a win. Can the Guardians salvage a victory, or will the Reds complete the sweep?

Key Stats
Cleveland Guardians
The Cleveland Guardians offense hasn’t been able to create opportunities to score in this series. In game one, the team was 1 for 4 with RISP, and yesterday the team was 0 for 1. Only five at-bats with RISP isn’t going to win many games. They don’t steal many bases either, meaning it is very hard for the offense to generate runs.
Left-hander Luis Ortiz takes the mound in the series finale for the Cleveland Guardians. His last start against the Philadelphia Phillies was solid. He gave up four hits and one earned run over 6.0 innings of work. His road splits are not great. Ortiz has made four home starts and four road starts. 25 of his 38 hits given up on the season have come on the road. Additionally, 17 of his 23 earned runs allowed have come on the road.
Cincinnati Reds
Will Benson continues to rake for the Cincinnati Reds. In the last seven games, he is hitting .389 with three home runs and seven RBIs. He has homered in both games in this series. One player who is not having a good series is young phenom Elly De La Cruz. He is only 1 for 7 in the series and went 0 for 4 yesterday, being the only Reds player who did not record a hit in the game.
The Cincinnati Reds send left-hander Andrew Abbott to the mound to try to complete the sweep. In his last start against the Chicago White Sox, he went for 6.0 innings, giving up four hits and one earned run. Abbott has had a strong start to the month. In his three starts in May, he has pitched 18.0 innings, giving up only 11 hits and one earned run while striking out 18.

Prediction
This is a great spot for the Cincinnati Reds. Abbott has been great in the month of May, and the Cleveland Guardians are sending out a pitcher who struggles on the road. Vegas has favored Cleveland over the past two games, but now the odds have flipped. Cleveland simply isn’t generating opportunities to score. Even if the Reds start to struggle at the plate, their ability to move on the base paths can help them manufacture runs. I’ve hit plus odds every day in this series, and I’m not stopping now. Give me the Reds spread.
