Cleveland Cavaliers at Phoenix Suns DFS Start Sit March 21, 2025

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Phoenix Suns are likely expected to be in each other’s positions at this point in the season. The Suns were built to take the number one spot in the West. Instead, they are relegated to the 10th spot while the Cavaliers enjoy being number one in the East. To be fair, it hasn’t been easy for Phoenix who is missing star shooter Bradley Beal. That creates a big opportunity for Cleveland, though, who has one of the best backcourts in the league.

Darius Garland (Draft Kings Price 8.1K, FanDuel Price 7.7K)

Both guards for Cleveland are almost no-brainers to start at this point. It’s possible that, at least for this game, Garland will outperform Mitchell. Devin Booker will probably be defending Mitchell, which won’t stop him but at least slow him down. Garland will, therefore, get an easier defensive assignment. He has scored below 20 in his last two games, so tonight Garland is primed for a comeback performance.

Jarrett Allen (Draft Kings Price 7K, FanDuel Price 7.4K)

Allen has been putting up some very interesting stats since they show that Allen can have a great game depending on the matchup. He put up 20+ points against the likes of Orlando and Memphis, but he only managed 10 points against Sacramento. That probably had something to do with Domantas Sabonis holding down the paint, so Jarrett Allen is worth starting in any matchup where there isn’t a juggernaut defending him.

Grayson Allen (Draft Kings Price 3.9K, FanDuel Price 4.4K)

This recommendation is for anybody short of DFS money who wants to chase some upside. Coming off the bench hasn’t affected Grayson Allen’s game too much; he has his duds, but then he has strong games as well. He is always capable of firing off a ton of threes, which makes him a good cheap option with the potential to pay out big time.

Nick Richards (Draft Kings Price 4K, FanDuel Price 4.9K)

Richards hasn’t scored 20 points since mid-February. Since then, he hasn’t played poorly, but the upside isn’t quite there either. He has to compete for shots with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, so it isn’t like he is in a great position to be scoring left and right. Jarrett Allen will also make every rebound he goes for tough.

Colin Gillespie (Draft Kings Price 3.6K, FanDuel Price 3.9K)

Gilespie has slowly been seeing more game time, playing over 20 min in two of the last three games. Unfortunately, he has been held to single digits in the past 8 games. These simply aren’t the stats of someone worthy of a DFS start. There are other cheap point guards to pick up out there.

Dean Wade (Draft Kings Price 3.1K, FanDuel Price 4K)

Wade is coming off his strongest game of the season, scoring 12 against Sacramento. Unfortunately, he comes in for Evan Mobley, and Evan Mobley is going to stay on the court for a very long time game in and game out. As a result, Wade won’t get enough minutes to really perform well.

Cavaliers at Suns Lock

Kevin Durant (Draft Kings Price 9.2K, FanDuel Price 9.6K)

The big matchups for the Suns almost make for a better scenario in which to play Durant. As a Durant owner, it’s better if the team struggles a bit to force Durant to take over the half-court offense. That’s how he did things like score 35 in a loss to Memphis and 33 in a loss to Minnesota. Durant will get his numbers to win, lose or draw.

Cavaliers at Suns Fade

Bol Bol (Draft Kings Price 4K, FanDuel Price 4.3K)

At 7’3, it seems like only a matter of time before Bol Bol starts dominating the NBA. His minutes have been really slashed in the month of March, though (He only played six minutes in their win over Toronto). Right now is definitely the time to wait on Bol Bol. If he can fix his game around, he can earn more minutes and, therefore more recommendations for DFS.
