Chet Holmgren is entering his second full season playing in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder, missing his first season due to injury. As previously stated, the Oklahoma City Thunder added Isaiah Hartenstien in the offseason for big man depth as it is needed because the Mavericks‘ big men exposed the lack of size last season in the playoffs.
The addition of Hartenstien means that the minutes for Holmgren will see a slight drop meaning a little less opportunities for production. But the leap that Holmgren could get is why his average points per game went up by one point. Holmgren will produce enough splitting opportunities with Jalen Williams as the second and third options behind Shai. Holmgren will continue to flourish in OKC’s fluid offense led by Shai, with the pick and roll and pick and pop plays as well as the sets drawn up by OKC head coach Mark Daigneault.
