Bryce Young 2025 NFL Redraft Outlook

What a tale of two seasons it was for Bryce Young last year. The star out of Alabama had a dismal first couple of games to start his second season. After being benched, he came back in new form, balling like his last name was Mahomes or Allen. That certainly makes him a potential option for fantasy football this year. The ultimate question is: When is it ok to start thinking about drafting Bryce Young?

Bryce Young 2024 Stats and Fantasy Production

Bryce Young’s 2024 stats are very difficult to interpret because he had such a poor opening to the season. As a result, he doesn’t reach the top 20 in any of the relevant quarterback categories, not even in QBR, where Young finished with 54.1.

Looking at the second stretch of the season, though, Young’s stats are very impressive. In the last ten games of the season, Young threw for more than 200 yards six times. He also threw 15 touchdowns in that period to only six interceptions.

When it comes to fantasy, Young looks about as good as any QB1 from week 8 onward. He never scored below 10 fantasy points after week 10, and he hit some impressive highs like 36.4 points in the season finale against Atlanta and a 27.1-point showing against Arizona. If Young can play like he did the way he ended last season, his fantasy owners will be very pleased.

Bryce Young is set up to have a monstrous 2025 season. Not only does he have receivers Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette returning, but Carolina drafted Tetairoa McMillan from Arizona with their first-round draft pick. Considering that running back Chuba Hubbard can also catch a pass or two, Young all of a sudden has a stacked group of pass-catchers.

That being said, he might still end up with a low draft position in most drafts. He is ranked by Fantasy Pros at 24, so smaller drafts might not even need to pick him up. In 12-man or higher drafts, Young does become a very enticing QB2 prospect. There is no rush to draft Young early on, though.

Most players should be taking their QB2 with some of their final picks anyway, but at that time, many players might be deciding between guys like Tua Tagovailoa or Trevor Lawrence.

Simply based on hype, other players might go ahead of Bryce Young, so the smart thing would be to let him fall and instead pick up more skilled players while saving Young for a final-round pick. Keep in mind that this is totally pertaining to redraft too; in dynasty leagues, Young should be taken much, much earlier.
