Brock Nelson is coming off an awesome season with the New York Islanders, his 3rd consecutive 30+ goal season. In the 2023-2024 season, Nelson put up 34 goals and 69 points in 82 games.

He helped the Islanders make the playoffs. In January 2024, Patrick Roy was named as Islanders’ Head Coach when Lane Lambert was fired. The team improved under Roy and faced the Carolina Hurricanes in the 1st round where they lost in 5 games.

Brock Nelson was drafted 30th overall in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders.

Brock Nelson made his NHL Debut in the 2013 Playoffs, Game 6 against the Pittsburgh Penguins as a 21-year-old. Avalanche Star Defenseman Cale Makar did the same vs the Calgary Flames years later, but it’s still a wild way to debut.

The 2013-14 season is when Brock Nelson made his regular-season debut. He played 72 games that year with 14 goals and 26 points.

Brock scored 20+ goals the next 3 seasons with a high of 26 in 2015-16. It took Brock Nelson until the 22-23 season to get 30 goals where he had a career-high still with 37 goals.

2022-23 was when Nelson had his only 70-point season where he had 36 goals and 75 points.

Brock Nelson loved Patrick Roy’s hiring as head coach.

We were a confident group when we had Lane,” Nelson said. “I think a change sometimes, maybe, just gives you a different perspective, a different voice to kind of see it from a different lens, but we always believed in the group that we had.

“When Patrick came in, I think we played some good stretches, and lately, I think it’s been a huge key for us.”

Brock Nelson is hoping to have a 4th consecutive 30+ goal season and even crack 40 goals and or 80 points for the first time in his NHL Career with a full year under Patrick Roy.

New York Islanders 2024-2025 Projected Lines

Line 1: (LW) Anthony Duclair – (C) Bo Horvat – (RW) Matthew Barzal

Line 2: (LW) Maxim Tsyplakov – (C) Brock Nelson – (RW) Kyle Palmeri

Line 3: (LW) Anders Lee – (C) Jean Gabriel Pageau – (RW) Pierre Engvall

Line 4: (LW) Kyle McLean – (C) Casey Cizikas – (RW) Simon Holmstrom

Brock Nelson is going to be on the top Powerplay too with Kyle Palmeri, Matthew Barzal, Defenseman Noah Dobson, and Bo Horvat.

Brock Nelson is not expected to play with the top line which has Horvat and Barzal on it, but still, Kyle Palmeri is a solid winger, and Maxim Tsyplakov has loads of potential.
