Brock Bowers 2024 Fantasy Outlook: Huge Rookie Season Incoming?

Brock Bowers fantasy outlook

Brock Bowers is one of the most intriguing TE prospects over the last few years. Bowers is the closest thing to a Travis Kelce that has come into the league ever since Travis Kelce himself; with his route running and ability to bring the ball in, Bowers is going to make a lot of noise in his rookie season for fantasy owners. The only things in Brock Bowers’s way are Gardner Minshew’s performance and Michael Mayer getting most of the TE targets. Let’s look at Bowers’s Georgia Numbers from 2023 to see why the Raiders chose him in the first round of the 2024 draft.

Brock Bowers 2023 Production

Bowers had 56 receptions for 714 yards and six touchdowns in 2023. However, he did have a high ankle sprain that required him to miss four games in the middle of last year’s season. Brock Bowers had at least 56 catches and 714 yards in all three seasons at the University of Georgia. He also had 31 touchdowns in just 40 collegiate games, meaning he’s going to find the endzone multiple times per game if given the opportunity. Let’s look at the 2024 projections for Brock Bowers.

ESPN has Bowers as the 11th-ranked TE in fantasy with 57 receptions for 652 yards and four touchdowns for a total of 143.82 PPR points in his rookie season for the Las Vegas Raiders. ESPN has Bowers as the guy that’ll take the most TE1 snaps in Vegas even though Michael Mayer is there, which is an interesting preposition because Mayer was also great for the Raiders last year, but it’s understandable because Bowers is so good as a talent, he’ll get opportunities if his blocking is to par.

Fantasy Pros also has Brock Bowers as the TE11 in their ECR ratings for 2024, with the second easiest schedule for tight ends in 2024. The stat line projection that Fantasy Pros has for the Georgia Bulldog is 62 receptions for 683 yards and five touchdowns for 155 fantasy points. So a similar projection to the ESPN projection, which is in line with most people have Bowers ranked and projected including myself.

Final Thoughts

Brock Bowers is going to have a strong season in the Silver and Black in his rookie season. I don’t think it will be a huge boom like Sam Laporta last season because of the questionable quarterback play and the direct competition of Mayer’s targets. But Bowers is going to be a huge fantasy asset, especially if you need a solid backup tight end in the later rounds of the draft. Brock Bowers should be drafted in the 7-12 round range of PPR drafts this season if the drafts are done right.
