Seattle Sounders FC vs. Nashville SC Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em | April 19, 2025

sounders

On Saturday in Seattle at 7:30 PM Eastern in Lumen Field, Seattle Sounders FC plays Tennessee’s only MLS franchise, Nashville Soccer Club. The Sounders are 11th ranked in the Western Conference, while Nashville is 6th ranked in the Eastern Conference. With both clubs being very inconsistent in the MLS, who should you start and who should you sit tomorrow? Well, after looking through all the stats of each player on each team, that’s what I’ve found out.

Sit Seattle Sounders Forward Jesús Ferreira

We talked about Jesús Ferreira’s struggles with his new team last time we talked about the Sounders. In the meantime, he hasn’t proven to be any better, so he’s an easy sit, especially at $4,700. Maybe we should’ve bought Marcus Rashford after all.

First Start is Daniel Lovitz, the Nashville SC Left Back

The American left back, available at $3,200, has proven to be one of the young club’s most valuable players in its history so far. He’s the 3rd best player Nashville has by average match rating with a 7.11, very high for a left back. He’s participated in 25% of Nashville’s goals so far this season. So if you do, there’s a one in four chance he’ll help in Nashville’s next goal.

Next Start is Seattle’s MidField Maestro, Cristian Roldan

While he wasn’t mentioned in the last game due to his off form, he looks to be getting back to his best and is worth the $3,700. He earned a 7.7 match rating, the best match rating out of anyone in the Sounders’ last game, which was a 1-0 win over FC Dallas. In terms of MLS clubs that are yellow, there are clubs where Roldan is worse.

Another Sit is Nashville SC defender, Jack Maher

The American-born defender has been struggling so far this season with the Nashville-based team. He’s only had a 6.76 match rating all season, which is the 2nd worst out of all of Nashville SC’s regular starters this season, and his $1,100 worth shows that. All that makes him an easy sit for the upcoming match!

Next is Obed Vargas, and you should start him!

Vargas is arguably the Sounders’ most valuable asset, but he hasn’t ignited yet this season. It’s only inevitable he’ll turn it around. Plus, Nashville SC has given up 7.0+ match rating games to two different midfielders in the past three games, so there’s a great chance with an amazing midfield duo of Vargas and Roldan that both will have great games. Well worth it for $3,500.

Next up is the Sounders’ Nouhou Tolo

I love Nouhou Tolo; he’s been one of the only entertaining players for the Sounders this season, but with Lovitz defending him. What’s most likely is he’ll be in his pocket, so don’t expect a lot of exciting moments from him against Nashville. The $2,800 could be spent elsewhere.

Thanks a bunch for reading!
