With the 2025 fantasy football season around the corner, I’m sure many are trying to figure out who to get for their FLEX position. These are either running backs or wide receivers, or even tight ends in some occasions. This is arguably the hardest position to figure out in all of fantasy football. You’re in luck, as I’m kind enough to help you out today for early looks at the position for redraft leagues!
Best Sleeper Flex Players for 2025 Fantasy Football
To start, we have Jerome Ford, the running back for the NFL team, the Cleveland Browns. I previously dug into Ford in another sleeper article I did earlier this year, but I’d be an idiot not to mention him. In 2023, the 5th round pick had not only 813 rushing yards in the world but also 319 receiving yards with nine total touchdowns.
He was a crucial part of the Browns’ run to the playoffs along with QB Joe Flacco, who the Browns re-signed for this upcoming 2025 season. An improvement on their passing game should open up the field further for Ford, who looks to either step into being RB1 or split carries with a rookie RB.
Our Rookie FLEX Sleeper is the Virginia Tech RB Bhayshul Tuten
Tuten made his name known with a blazing 4.32 40-yard dash, moving him up draft boards across the country. While the 2-time 2nd team All-ACC running back wasn’t used much for receiving in college, I suspect his blazing 40 time will make coaches across the league turn him into a Swiss Army type. He might start out slow but could become a FLEX breakout player mid-season, making him a worthwhile late-round pick to throw on your bench.
Our 3rd FLEX Sleeper is the Raiders receiver, Tre Tucker
While you should stay away from any receiver with Rodgers, that’s not a worry with the Raiders. Geno has proven to be a Pro Bowl-level quarterback. Carroll is looking to be the best Raiders coach hire since Rich Bisaccia, only being a year out of the league after being the best Seahawks coach ever.
Tucker himself is an emerging talent; last year was his 2nd year, and he improved from 331 receiving yards in his 1st year to 539, and going from two to three receiving TDs, plus he showed his FLEX potential with a rushing TD too. With the Raiders coaching and QB situations improving and how creative Carroll is with his schemes, expect big things from Tucker soon.
Our Last Sleeper is the Saints Receiver, Chris Olave
This is less for playing the meta and more if you want a 3rd receiver or RB in that FLEX slot, which is what Olave is perfect for. In his first two seasons, Olave had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, only stopped by injury last year. The Saints’ hiring the Eagles’ ex-OC Moore could see Olave break out with a better Saints offense. But if he recovers to his usual, he’s perfect as a reliable 3rd starting receiver behind two elite receivers.
