If you’ve come looking for the ideal F1 fantasy line-up for the Japanese GP weekend, you’ve come to the right place.
So then, what’s the ideal F1 fantasy line-up for the 2025 Japanese GP? That’s what I found out, so let’s get into it right now!
Lando Norris is a Must-Have for any F1 Lineup
The current points leader is always a must-have, of course, and not to mention, 2023 showed how great he can be at the historic Suzuka Circuit. They finished 2nd at a time when Red Bull truly did have wings over the rest of the competition at the time.
Next is the well-known and celebrated Max Verstappen, leader of the Orange Army. Of course, he has multiple wins at the Suzuka Circuit, but he and Red Bull’s recent form might turn some of them, but it shouldn’t. While the Red Bull is no longer the fastest team, Max has been making the most of it so far. With a very impressive 2nd and 4th places to begin the year.
Constructors to Pick for F1
McLaren is the obvious choice, as they are the fastest team in F1 by far and have been since last year. They have both of the possible wins this season at Australia and China. Your second team, however, should be Ferrari, which sounds crazy, but hang on. In both 2024 and 2023, Ferrari was one of the top three teams, so if they stay consistent, Leclerc or Hamilton should be in podium contention, if not both of them.
Interesting Selections for the Other Three Drivers
Yuki Tsunoda- I don’t know what the seat swap will do to his value, but he’s still a must-get for his home Grand Prix weekend. While some doubts are starting to spring up due to the cursed history of the 2nd Red Bull seat. It should be noted that a bad finish does not mean a bad start. Many Red Bull drivers, even those thrown for underperforming, had a great debut. Both Albon and Perez finished 5th in their Red Bull debuts, and of course, Max famously won in his debut.
Next is Esteban Ocon, who has a point-scoring car again with the Haas, and he’s shown that with the right car, he’s a performer in Japan. He scored points in Suzuka in 2023, 2022, and 2018, with 2022 being one of his best performances of his career. Finishing a very impressive 4th in a chaotic mess of a race. Lastly, for the last of the last drivers, it’s Liam Lawson at long last.
Seems like a bold choice to choose the driver who was demoted for underperforming last week because he couldn’t score points while his teammate was on the podium.
Not only is there now a long history of demoted Red Bull drivers doing better on their sister team, but Liam Lawson has a long history here. He’s already raced here in F1, finishing 11th in 2023, and has raced in the Japanese Super Formula, which no shock races here, too.
