Bengals vs. Chiefs DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| September 15, 2024

Week 2 of the NFL has one of the most anticipated match-ups of the entire season when the Cincinnati Bengals (0-1), visit Arrowhead to take on the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (1-0).

The Chiefs survived the Ravens in week one, and look to go up 2-0 against the AFC, specifically the AFC North. If the Chiefs can win this week they will have to key tie-breakers for the rest of the regular season. The Bengals fell to the Patriots at home in week one giving them another hole to dig out of to start the season.

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Travis Kelce (DraftKings: $6.2k, Fanduel: $7.4k)

Travis Kelce didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard in Week 1. He recorded a modest line of 3 receptions for 34 yards with 0 touchdowns. He scored 6.4 points on DraftKings and 4.9 on Fanduel.
Kelce and Mahomes have one of the best connections in the league. Travis will find some holes in the Bengals’ defense and should be able to take advantage of it. Kelce is reasonably priced to start 2024, so take advantage of it.

Zack Moss (DraftKings: $5,6k, Fanduel: $6.3k)

Zack Moss didn’t have the debut for Cincinnati that he and everyone else had hoped for. Due to his lack of volume in week one, Moss only had 9 carries for 44 yards and 1 touchdown. He also added 2 catches for 17 yards. Moss was able to save his day by scoring the only Bengal touchdown. He scored 14.1 points on DraftKings, and 13.1 points on Fanduel.

Zack Moss is in a good spot to have another solid DFS performance. He should see more carries in week two. At his value, Moss may be the perfect fit to round out your lineup at the running back position.

Bengals vs. Chiefs DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Andrei Iosivas (DraftKings: $3.8k, Fanduel: $5.2k)

The second-year wide receiver from Princeton came into the season with high hopes, and with Tee Higgins missing Week 1, Andrei Iosivas couldn’t deliver. In Week 1,  Iosivas recorded a mediocre 3 receptions on 6 targets for 26 yards.

He managed 5.6 points on DraftKings, and 4.1 points on Fanduel. Until Iosivas can prove that he is reliable avoid drafting him even at such a low value.

Chase Brown (DraftKings: $4.7k, Fanduel: $5.4k)

Chase Brown had one of the most disappointing outings of all Bengals in Week 1. Only getting 3 carries for 11 yards, and catching all 3 of his targets for 12 yards. Brown totaled 23 yards on 6 touches.

The Chiefs defense allowed 185 rushing yards in Week 1. At his current value, Brown may be better served as someone you avoid until he proves consistency at a higher volume.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Isiah Pacheco (DraftKings: $6.9k, Fanduel: $7.4k)

Isiah Pacheco is entering week two with a fantastic match-up. After only averaging 3.0 yards per carry in week one Pacheco faces a Bengals defense that allowed 170 rushing yards to the Patriots. Isiah Pacheco took advantage of his opportunities in Week 1, totaling 78 yards and a touchdown on 17 touches.

The Bengals missed way too many tackles last week, and Pacheco has been known to make defenders miss. Pacheco runs hard and has a super favorable match-up this week. At his value, Isiah Pacheco should be locked into everyone’s DFS lineup this week.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Joe Burrow (DraftKings: $6.3k, Fanduel: $7.4k)

Fading Joe Burrow this week may be the best decision you make for your DFS lineup. Although Burrow has had success against Mahomes and the Chiefs in the past. Something feels off in Cincinnati. Whether it be his recovery from a wrist injury or the chemistry between Burrow and his receivers. Cincinnati looks off. Burrow was 21/29 for 164 yards with 0 touchdowns.

The lack of explosive plays in week one was a cause for concern in Cincinnati. Avoid Joe Burrow at his value until the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff can prove they can balance an offensive game plan. If they approach Kansas City with a game plan of passing the ball 30 times and only rushing it 10-12 times again it will be a long night for the Bengals offense.

Conclusion

This could end up being the game of the week, or even the game of the year. Lots of options in this game are in good spots to make an impact in your DFS lineup. Pairing Isiah Pacheco with Travis Kelce in week two could prove beneficial in your lineup, and securing you a spot in the money.
