Bears vs Colts DFS Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em| September 22, 2024

The Bears travel to Indianapolis to take on the 0-2 Colts. Two young quarterbacks will face off and try to prove to their respective fan base that they’re the franchise’s future. While the Packers gave the Bears the defensive blueprint last week on how to stop Anthony Richardson and the Colts’ offense, the Bears offense has plenty of question marks still heading into this week three matchup.

D’Andre Swift, RB, Chicago Bears (DraftKings $12.9K, fanDuel $12K)

Swift has struggled to start the season, only averaging two yards per rush. Despite his poor performance, he is the running back you want in the Bears backfield. The Bears defense has kept them in games this season so the game plan should be to run the ball with swift, control the clock, and let their defense do the talking. Giving Swift more carries would also take some of the pressure off of their first overall pick Caleb Williams which would be greatly beneficial for the young QB as he gets acclimated to the NFL.

Michael Pittman Jr, WR, Indianapolis Colts (DraftKings $12K, FanDuel $11.5K)

Pittman only has seven catches on the season for 52 yards but is has the most targets out of all the Colts receivers with 15. Richardson and Pittman are struggling to get on the same page so far but that should improve as the season progresses. It is encouraging that Richardson keeps going back to Pittman even when they aren’t connecting. Look for the Colts to try and get the ball in Pittman’s hands more against this Bears defense.

Bears vs Colts Sit ‘Ems

Anthony Richardson, QB, Indianapolis Colts (DraftKings $16.2K, FanDuel $15.5 K)

Richardson’s accuracy issues from college continue to plague him in the NFL as he is only completing 49.1 percent of his passes this season. He has four interceptions to only three touchdowns so far in the young season. While you can rely on Richardson to get you fantasy points with his legs, look for the Bears defense to limit his rushing ability and make him try to beat them with his arm.

Keenan Allen, WR, Chicago Bears ( DraftKings $13.8K, FanDuel $11K)

Allen is questionable to play in this game Sunday which doesn’t look good since he didn’t play last week.  If Allen is active for the Bears he will be a small part of the gameplan, if he’s involved at all. Chicago could roll him out as a decoy but it is doubtful that Williams would even look his way. He could be ruled out by kickoff Sunday but should be avoided either way in season-long and DFS lineups.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Jonathon Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts (DraftKings $16.5K, FanDuel $16K)

Taylor continues to be the workhorse back for the Colts and the focal point of this offense. Indianapolis should look to lean on the run game more to cover up some of the accuracy issues from their quarterback. Taylor hasn’t been involved much in the receiving game thus far only recording two catches for 32 yards, but that could look to change against a stout Bears defense. The Colts should look to get the ball out of Richardsons hands quickly which could lead to an uptick in receptions from the standout running back.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears ( DraftKings $14.4K, FanDuel $14K)

The Bears offense has struggled to start the season, which has been highlighted by the poor quarterback play they’ve gotten out of their first overall draft pick this season. Williams has yet to throw a touchdown and has thrown two interceptions. while this trend will not continue and he will likely get his first touchdown pass of his career this week in Indianapolis, he shouldn’t be started until his play improves. Much like his counterpart on the other team, Williams can get you fantasy points with his rushing ability but with the lack of touchdowns, his floor is too low to be relied on in your lineup.
