MLB DFS Best Start/Sit for 05/18/2024

MLB DFS

The weekend is here, with this weekend’s slate of MLB DFS action. In a full 15-game slate of baseball action, one of the games today will be the San Diego Padres going to Georgia and facing the Atlanta Braves tonight. Another featured game will be the Houston Astros, going against the red-hot Milwaukee Brewers in Houston.

There will be a lot of night action today, with the weather getting warmer in the Spring of baseball. Today could be one pitcher starting on your fantasy line-ups and have a great game today. Some of today’s potential hitters could do well today and later tonight for your fantasy teams.

This weekend would provide a lot of action, for baseball and daily fantasy wins for fantasy players.

SP Luis Severino, New York Mets at Miami Marlins ($7,000 – DraftKings)

Even with the Mets struggling to find consistency, Luis Severino has been a good arm for the team. Severino did well in his last start pitching going five innings, and striking out four but gave up two runs.

Luis Severino would pitch against a weak Marlins line-up and could do well today. There could be a shut-out for the Mets ace if things go right for the Mets today and for Severino.

3B Ryan McMahon, Colorado Rockies at.San Francisco Giants($4,800)

With the Rockies having a hot streak right now, Ryan McMahon should be on your starts for your MLB DFS action. Ryan McMahon had a good game Friday going 2-4 driving in two RBIs.

McMahon had been on a hot streak this season and could do well for your fantasy teams. Ryan McMahon has been hitting the ball well and could be a key factor in winning today’s DFS.

OF Bryan Reynolds, Pittsburgh Pirates at. Chicago Cubs($4,600)

Bryan Reynolds has been getting hot and will be a great addition to today’s fantasy teams. Reynolds’s last game, he went 2-5 with a run, and a stolen base Friday. The Pirates outfielder has been getting hot, in the previous few games and could be a factor in today’s MLB DFS contests. Today could go well with the Pirates and Bryan Reynolds could help with your Draft Kings fantasy leagues.

SP Braxton Garrett, New York Mets at. Miami Marlins ($5,900 – DraftKings)

Braxton Garrett is having a nightmare season with the Marlins which could get worse today. Garrett in his last game went 5.1 innings, giving up five runs, yet struck out eight batters

While the Marlins pitchers have done well against the Mets, Garrett could have a long day against the lineup. During the game against the Phillies Garrett walked two and gave up five hits, which could lead to runs.

1B Pete Alonso, New York Mets at. Miami Marlins ($4,800 – DraftKings)

While Pete Alonso is trying to get his swing back, it’s not proving power for the team. In the loss against the Marlins, Alonso went 1-4 with a strikeout. While Pete hit a home run two days ago, it doesn’t give MLB DFS players confidence in him. There could be a chance that Pete hits the ball well again, but it might be a while. I would avoid the Mets slugger until proven otherwise.

SS Francisco Lindor New York Mets at. Miami Marlins ($4,800 – DraftKings)

The Mets’ struggles go to one of their clubhouse leaders Francisco Lindor who is struggling at the plate. New York this season has been a nightmare, and the Mets’ superstar shortstop isn’t helping. During the loss yesterday, Lindor went 1-4 against the Marlins Friday night.

These struggles have been a red flag for fantasy owners.  Lindor could do well tonight but needs to hit to convince DFS owners to start him again.

May 18th MLB DFS Best Stack

For today’s best stack for Saturday, the duo of Ryan McMahon and Ezequiel Tovar for the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies have been hot lately and the bats of McMahon and Tovar have been a factor. Colorado could have something special with Tovar and McMahon this season if the Rockies’ hot streak keeps going.

The duo will be a great stack for today’s MLB DFS action due to how hot the hitting has been for the Rockies. Even if one has a weak day, the other could pick up the slack. This Rockies team could shock people if Tovar and McMahon carry the team this Summer. While the Rockies’ pitching has holes, the hitting could win an MLB DFS prize for players today.
