NBA DFS Thursday brings us a small five-game slate. The Coach is here with his starting five and authentic insight from ‘inside the ropes’. The NBA’s daily fantasy landscape is ever-changing, with injuries, last-minute inactives, and load management. Last night’s FanDuel $10k main slate pay line finished at 315.5 points. The starting five produced us 198.6 points buoyed by Miles Bridges’ 66.7 fantasy blow up.
The starting lineup is designed to provide a core five as you construct your DFS builds. We strive to recommend players who have the potential to be less owned and build an NBA DFS roster different from the masses. Your obvious studs are not always mentioned and the fantasy point-per-game averages referenced are those across FanDuel scoring. See who the coach has in his NBA DFS starting lineup this evening.
NBA DFS Starting Guards
Stephen Curry ($9.7k DraftKings and $9.2k FanDuel)
Stephen Curry will lead the way for us ar point guard and maybe lesser owned with both Luka Doncic and Cade Cunningham on the slate. He gets the green light facing the Kings who rank just 25th in fantasy points allowed to the position. Curry enters tonight as the overall PG8 averaging 40.46 fantasy points. He has been even better of late, posting 48.51 points and 7 dimes across his last seven starts. In addition, he will play in a ripe fantasy environment with the Kings-Warriors boasting the second highest implied game total at 234.
Colby White ($7.3k DraftKings and $7.4k FanDuel)
Colby White is an excellent mid-tier NBA DFS option for our roster build tonight. Josh Giddey is out with an ankle injury, therefore the usage rate for White should be terrific. White is forecast to play in a competitive game script and fantasy friendly 230 implied game total. Over his last four starts, he is averaging 42.83 fantasy points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Those numbers stand to be even better with Giddey being inactive. In addition, White offers roster flexibility being a dual guard eligible player.
Bench Options: Luka Doncic, Cade Cunningham, Jordan Poole, Cam Thomas
NBA DFS Starting Forwards
Cameron Johnson ($6.1k DraftKings and $6.6k FanDuel)
Cameron Johnson gets the nod at small forward, giving us a second piece of the Nets-Bulls tilt. Johnson came through for us Tuesday night with 37.5 fantasy points. Over his last three starts, he has posted 37 or more fantasy points, and averaged 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Alexander Sarr ($6.1k DraftKings and $6.2k FanDuel)
Despite the large point spread between the Wizards and Pistons, we need roster exposure to the game with a slate high 235 implied point total. Sarr represents a nice value play and will get the start at power forward. Detroit allows the ninth most fantasy points to forwards and Sarr has shown well of late. In his last four games, he is averaging 28 minutes, 33 fantasy points and 9 rebounds per game. He is dual-position eligible, affording us major flexibility to be rostered at power forward or center.
NBA DFS Starting Center
Jalen Duren ($6.9k DraftKings and $7.5k FanDuel)
Bench Options: Nikola Vucevic, Brooke Lopez, Nic Claxton
Final Thoughts
The obvious nightly studs are not always mentioned. Our bench options provide followers, much the same as a coach, additional green light plays, injury replacements, and flexibility for your NBA DFS builds. We strive to balance studs and value plays that may be potentially less-owned. Pay attention to implied team and game totals and try to get roster exposure to those games.
The top DFS builds will consist of the right balance between studs and value options that pay at least 5x-6x their salaries. Good luck with your roster builds, and please like and follow us on social media. Please double-check our player recommendations once inactives are announced.
