As we wind down the NFL season we will begin to transition into our NBA DFS previews and recommendations. The NBA’s daily fantasy landscape is ever-changing with load management, injuries, and the lineup fluxation. Just for a point of reference, last night’s main slate pay line on both the FanDuel’s $4k and $20k contests was 310.2. This gives us a targeted baseline score as we give recommendations for tonight’s main slate.
These recommendations are designed to provide core players with which to construct your DFS lineups. We strive for players who have the potential to be less owned and give us a lineup different from the masses. The fantasy point-per-game averages referenced are those across FanDuel scoring rules.
DFS Guards
Cade Cunningham ($10.2k DraftKings and $10k Fanduel)
Cade Cunningham has been on a great run of late, averaging 47.04 points across his last five games. He gets a decent match-up against an Atlanta defense that is 13th in fantasy points allowed to the guard position. We want to be invested in a game with the slate’s third-highest implied total of 234.5. He is the overall PG9 and with the absence of Jaden Ivey, Cunningham has a usage rate north over 30%. He also comes off Mionday’s 32-9-7 stat line and we expect results in line with that.
Spencer Dinwiddie ($6.1k DraftKings and $6.4k Fanduel)
Across his last three games, Dinwiddie is holding steady at over thirty minutes per game. During that span, he has averaged 31.37 fantasy points per game and has topped the 30-point mark in five of his last seven games. With Luka Doncic still sidelined with the calf injury, Dinwiddie provides us with a nice mid-tier DFS option with dual guard eligibility.
Also Consider: Lamelo Ball, D’Angelo Russell, Ja Morant
DFS Forwards
Anthony Edwards ($9.3k DraftKings and $9.2k Fanduel)
Antman gets a terrific matchup tonight as he faces a Dallas defense ranked 24th in fantasy points allowed to the position. Edwards is on a nice run of late, averaging 32 points and 46.16 fantasy points in the last three games. Edwards comes in as the overall SG1 and has seen close to 40 minutes a game across the last five contests. Edwards is the slate’s fourth highest-priced forward for a reason.
Miles Bridges ($7.6k DraftKings and $7.4k Fanduel)
The Hornets-Grizzlies game has a slate-high 240.5 implied game total, so we need a be invested in this one. Miles Bridges is a nice mid-tier option at the forward spot. Bridges has an excellent match-up versus the Grizzlies, who are ranked 28th in fantasy points allowed to the forward position. Bridges has been very steady in his five contests averaging 36.34 fantasy points including a 48-point outing versus the Jazz.
Also Consider: Tobias Harris, De’Andre Hunter, Desmond Bane
DFS Centers
Daniel Gafford ($6k DraftKings and $7.1k Fanduel)
Dereck Lively II enters tonight as a game-time decision, and with that, we will use Daniel Gafford in our center spot. Even if Lively returns tonight, we expect a possible minute restriction. In Lively’s three-game absence, Gafford has posted an average of 49.7 fantasy points across 28.3 minutes per game. Gafford affords a nice salary-saving option so we can spend up for some of the slate’s top DFS options.
Also Consider: Naz Reid, Mark Williams

Final Thoughts
As we stated earlier, we try to find player options projected for low ownership and top value. Pay attention to implied game totals and try and get pieces of those games within your lineup construction. The top DFS builds will consist of the right balance between studs and value players that pay 2x-5x their DFS salaries. Good luck with your DFS builds and please like and follow us on social media. Please note the Bucks-Pelicans game has been postponed.
