The injury report for the Bears and 49ers game will be a long one. D’Andre Swift, Christian McCaffrey, Jordan Mason, and Brandon Ayuk are just some of the names of injured players going into this matchup. This makes a good opportunity for some cheap pick-ups for DFS players who are looking to save money. Both teams will have some secondary players with huge opportunities to shine here.
49ers vs. Bears Start Em’
Keenan Allen (Draft Kings Price $5.6K, FanDuel Price $6.4K)
The Chicago Bears will likely be throwing the football a lot in this game. Most of their running backs are injured, and Caleb Williams has been performing very well recently. Allen has had a decent share of targets, including 15 two weeks ago against Minnesota. There is also a possibility that D.J. Moore will be injured for this game, so if Allen gets most of the targets while Williams is playing well, that should translate into a great day for both players.
Jauan Jennings (Draft Kings Price $5.2K, FanDuel Price $6.4K)
The 49ers will be playing on Sunday without two of their biggest pass catchers: Brandon Ayuk and Christian McCaffrey. This means it’s a big opportunity for Jennings, who has already shown this season that he can have monstrous games when some of the 49ers are injured. The Bears defense will certainly try to cover Deebo Samuel as much as possible, so Jennings should be open on plenty of plays.
Issac Guerendo (Draft Kings Price $5.4K, FanDuel Price $5.2K)
It’s not often that two teams lose their two starting running backs and then play each other, but that’s what we have here. Out of the running backs that are healthy to play, though, Guerendo looks the most promising. He would be a cheap pickup, but he can count on the 49ers offensive line and Kyle Shanahan’s scheme to help him get some yards.
49ers vs. Bears Sit Em’
Deebo Samuel (Draft Kings Price $5.9K, FanDuel Price $7.1K)
Samuel started off the year pretty well, but his last five games have been disappointing: he couldn’t get over 71 yards in any of them. It’s unlikely that he would overcome those numbers against the Bears who have a very stout defense. He may get carries running the ball with no Christian McCaffrey, but it’s hard to tell how much yardage he would get off of those.
Cole Kmet (Draft Kings Price $3.7K, FanDuel Price $5.2K)
The issue with Kmet is that his targets are spread very thinly. He will have games where he gets 10 targets (like against the Vikings) and games where he will have no targets (like against the Cardinals). He also had zero touchdowns in that time, so it may be better to pass on Kmet for a red zone threat like T.J. Hockenson or Hunter Henry.
Rome Odunze (Draft Kings Price $5K, FanDuel Price $5.6K)
Odunze at this point is a very touchdown-dependent player for fantasy production. The worst thing that could have happened to his output is Keenan Allen getting things together and becoming a force in this offense, and that’s exactly what’s happening. After his strong game against the Cardinals, Odunze hasn’t topped 65 yards. With numbers like that, he would need to get in the endzone to be worth playing.
49ers vs. Bears Lock
Caleb Williams (Draft Kings Price $5.6K, FanDuel Price $7.3K)
The past two games for Willams have been phenomenal. He threw 5 touchdowns over those two games and had over 250 yards in both. What’s even more impressive is that those games were against good defenses (Detroit and Minnesota). Willams would be a great pick-up for players who don’t have or can’t afford the Lamar Jacksons or Josh Allens of the world.
49ers vs. Bears Fade
Ricky Pearsall (Draft Kings Price $4.5K, FanDuel Price $5K)
Put simply, Ricky Pearsall hasn’t caught a ball in three games. Even with the injuries, Purdy is going to be looking toward three people when he drops back to pass: Deebo Samuel, Jauan Jennings, and George Kittle. Pearsall won’t be targeted unless he is completely wide open.
