Fantasy Football Tight End Start’em, Sit’em| Week 11

tight end

Week 10, some due to tight ends, was probably the sloppiest week of the entire season in general across fantasy football. Turnovers were up by a lot this past week, which led to a lot of disjointed games. Star tight ends had some really good weeks, while, for the most part, there weren’t those diamond-in-the-rough finds for this past week. The inconsistency of the position means that it is tough for fantasy owners to have fair expectations for the rest of the season. This position, more than any other, can be purely a matchup base, which can be stressful for fantasy owners.

Tight Ends Start’em: Week 11

Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson

The Cowboys have been the messiest franchise in the league so far in 2024. Without Dak Prescott, the Cowboys looked terrible on offense against the Eagles. Now the whole country gets to watch America’s team in a Monday night game against the Texans. Outside of Ceedee Lamb, it seems like Ferguson is the only other reliable target for whoever is the quarterback for Dallas. His 24 receiving yards actually led the team, so expect Ferguson to get enough of the target share to make him an automatic start for this week.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry

Since Drake Maye has been inserted into the lineup, the Patriots finally have a competent offense. What that has done is elevate Henry into being a top-10 tight end for fantasy. Henry was on a roll until a two-point performance last week but that feels like a fluke than reality. The Pats will be taking on the Rams and Los Angeles has a young defense that is gettable. Look for New England to get Henry back in the mix against the desperate Rams.

Tight Ends Sit’em: Week 11

Ravens TE Mark Andrews

With the recent injury to Isiah Likely, Andrews has returned to his Pro Bowl form over the last month. While that is a fact, what is also a fact is that the Ravens have faced some bad defenses lately, and in week 11, they head down to face their arch-rival Steelers. The Steelers locked down Zach Ertz of the Commanders this past week. Ertz had been on fire but was held to under five fantasy points. This feels like a low-scoring brawl, which means it seems like a good idea to sit the Raven’s top tight end.

Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith

The Dolphins picked up a big win on Monday Night Football this past week over the Rams. While the Dolphins won, it wasn’t like their offense looked amazing, and the player who wasn’t a major factor was the Dolphin’s tight end. Smith had one big catch in the game, but other than that, he was a nonfactor. Smith is a good player to stash on a bench, in case it’s either Jaylen Waddle or Tyreek Hill. Because they are not at the moment, Smith is not a player who owners should be starting, as the target share just isn’t there for the Fin’s tight end.

Conclusion

Even without Prescott, look to star Ferguson in a bounce-back game for the Cowboys against the Houston Texans in Dallas on Monday Night. Henry is still the safety valve for Drake Maye, so he is also a rebound candidate for the New England Patriots at home against the traveling Los Angeles Rams. Look to sit Mark Andrews despite being red hot on touchdowns for the Baltimore Ravens against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jonnu Smith of the Miami Dolphins against the Las Vegas Raiders.
