Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants DFS Start’Em, Sits’Em| November 3, 2024

New York Giants Wide Receiver Malik Nabers

The 6-2 Washington Commanders travel up the coast to New Jersey to play the 2-6 Giants this week in MetLife Stadium. The matchup between the red-hot Commanders’ offense and the Giants’ defense will be an interesting spot for the matchups, especially with the Commanders coming off an incredible Hail Mary to win last week against the Bears. The Giants are looking to improve their offensive output to potentially steal this NFC East tilt.

Here are a few of the players we are heavily leaning on in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin ($7,100 Draft Kings, $7,400 FanDuel )

Scarry Terry has been productive these last few weeks especially a two-touchdown day against the Ravens. McLaurin’s targets have gone up ever since the previous matchup against the Giants. He is slowly working on his chemistry with Daniels and they are growing together. I expect McLaurin to take advantage of his matchups this week against New York, unlike the first meeting where he only had 22 yards on 6 receptions.

New York Giants WR Malik Nabers ($7,500 Draft Kings, $8,400 FanDuel )

Nabers has shined at times for the Giants this season, including the last time these two teams met up. In the Week 2 matchup in Landover earlier this season,  Nabers had 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown. Expect Nabers to have a similar type of day against this secondary once again in New York, and continue his pace of averaging over 16 fantasy points per game on FanDuel this season.

Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown ($4,000 Draft Kings, $4,800 FanDuel)

The recipient of the Hail Mary last week might be a sneaky play to some people along with his budgets on both Draft Kings and FanDuel, but he won’t be that viable. The Hail Mary was his only touchdown of the season thus far for Brown, and he’s been used on a minimal scale to this point. While the Hail Mary play might inspire some people to make the dumb decision to put him in the DFS lineups, please steer away from the false hope of Brown.

New York Giants RB Devin Singletary ($6,100 Draft Kings, $6,100 FanDuel)

Even though Washington has been susceptible to the ground this season, including the big run by D’Andre Swift to get the Bears back into the game last weekend. But the Giants don’t have the line to sustain what they need to use Singletary effectively to capitalize on the weaknesses the Commanders sometimes have in the ground game. Also, Tyrone Tracy Jr will have some opportunities in this backfield more often, especially on early downs as that seems to be the trend these last few weeks.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels ($7,500 Draft Kings, $8,700 FanDuel)

Daniels is coming off a pedestrian day that got boosted by the late-game Hail Mary that has sent the social media world and both Chicago and Washington into a frenzy. That pass for Daniels made him eclipse the 20 fantasy point mark in 5 of his last 6 games. This week he’s going up against the Giants where he had his worst full game of his career thus far, but I expect him to be the player we have seen these last six weeks in Week 9 rather than that Week 2 game.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones ($5,200 Draft Kings, $6,600 FanDuel)

Daniel Jones is usually a fade at the quarterback position because he has had trouble doing the simple things that a quarterback needs to do to succeed in this league. Jones did have a good day the last time against Washington, but the Commanders have been better against the pass since this game, plus the Giants will still probably be without Andrew Thomas. Sit Jones once again this week.

Final Thoughts

Washington and New York could be sneaky production for a few players on each team this week but the main targets to look at are Daniels, McLaurin, and Nabers. The details of these DFS lineups are important to sift through all of the fluff and information overload that can be out there.
