Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| October 27, 2024

In this AFC matchup, the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs travel to Sin City to take on the 2-5 Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs won their sixth straight game to start the season in a Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers. The Raiders dropped their third consecutive game falling to the Los Angeles Rams.

This game could end up being a lopsided affair with injuries mounting for the Raiders and the Chiefs adding five-time Pro Bowl selection DeAndre Hopkins this week.

Here are a few players we are leaning on in this game. These players are in a good spot to have a solid performance and a favorable matchup.

Patrick Mahomes, Quarterback, Kansas City Chiefs (DraftKings: $6.8K, Fanduel: $8K)

Patrick Mahomes is having a mediocre start to his season through six games. He has six touchdowns and eight interceptions and his highest fantasy output this season was 15 points in week three against the Atlanta Falcons. Fortunately for him, the Raiders have allowed 316.9 yards and 26.1 points per game this season. Mahomes should have a solid game this week against a struggling Raiders team amid a losing streak.

Brock Bowers, Tight End, Las Vegas Raiders (DraftKings: $6.1K, Fanduel: $7.4K)

Brock Bowers has been the lone bright spot for the Las Vegas Raiders and is competing with George Kittle for most fantasy points by a tight end. He is doing that with only one touchdown on the season. The Chiefs’ defense has allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends this season so Bowers should have another excellent performance this week.

On the flip side, here are a few players we will be sitting in this one.

DeAndre Hopkins, Wide Receiver, Kansas City Chiefs (DraftKings: $4.9K, Fanduel: $5.4K)

DeAndre Hopkins will make his Kansas City Chiefs debut this week after being acquired in a trade from the Tennessee Titans. There’s uncertainty on how many snaps he could play but he won’t contribute his typical snap count. Hopkins has seen little to no success so far this season and will most likely need one more week with the Chiefs to acclimate to the offense and be trusted in fantasy.

Gardner Minshew, Quarterback, Las Vegas Raiders (DraftKings: $ and Fanduel)

Since the start of the season, Gardner Minshew has gotten increasingly worse with each passing week. He has turned the ball over at least once per game and his yards and efficiency have gone down considerably. The Chiefs’ defense has a top-10 ranking in yards per pass attempt, completion percentage, and passer rating. It will be a rough day for Minshew and the Raiders’ offense.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Kareem Hunt, Running Back, Kansas City Chiefs (DraftKings: $6.3K, Fanduel: $8.1K)

Kareem Hunt was an excellent addition to the Kansas City Chiefs offense. Isiah Pacheco got injured and Hunt stepped up and has flourished as the new lead back. Hunt ranks eighth in fantasy points per game averaging 17.33 in three games for the Chiefs. The Raiders defense has allowed the eighth most fantasy points to running backs this season and are without star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins due to injury. Hunt should go off for a massive fantasy output against the Raiders this week.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Alexander Mattison, Running Back, Las Vegas Raiders (DraftKings: $5.6K, Fanduel: $6.1K)

Alexander Mattison has a tough task ahead of him in week eight facing the stellar run defense of the Kansas City Chiefs. They have allowed the fewest fantasy points to running backs this season and Mattison is averaging only 3.6 yards per carry. Mattison has been used sparingly in the passing game but it won’t be enough to warrant starting him in this matchup. He needs to be left off your lineup this week.

Conclusion

This game could be a blowout win for the Kansas City Chiefs and another embarrassing loss for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs look to improve to 7-0 and the Raiders want to snap their current three-game losing streak. Start your lineup with a stack of Kareem Hunt, Brock Bowers, and Patrick Mahomes for a winning combination.
