Zion Williamson 2024-25 Fantasy Outlook

zion williamson

Zion Williamson has been a lightning-rod player since his high school days in South Carolina, which led to his selection as the number one overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. But the major problem for Williamson has been the fact he hasn’t been able to stay healthy long enough to have the major impact in fantasy that the former Duke Blue Devil could have because he’s been very electric when on the court. Here’s a look at Williamson’s 2023-24 production.

Zion Williamson 2023-24 Production

Zion Williamson averaged 22.9 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, 5.0 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game in 70 games last season for the New Orleans Pelicans. This past season was the most healthy season he has had in his career to date, but his production was slightly down. Williamson also was less efficient in 2023-24, which is obviously why his production dipped last year.

The Pelicans need Williamson to be more efficient in 2024-25 if they want to get back to the Playoffs and be a threat to the top contenders. The addition of Dejounte Murray should help Zion Williamson meet his expectations because Murray should make life easier for Zion Williamson and the rest of the New Orleans Pelicans. Here’s a look at Williamson’s projections for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Zion Williamson 2024-25 Projections

Zion Williamson is currently the 68th-ranked player in ESPN’s Fantasy Basketball projections heading into the 2024-25 season. ESPN has the following stat line projection for Zion Williamson: 26.6 points per game, 6.3 rebounds per game, 5.3 assists per game, 1.2 steals per game, and 0.7 blocks per game. Williamson is bound to be more efficient once again thanks to Murray’s ability as a point guard to get him the shots the spots he wants to put up the most efficent production possible.

Williamson will probably see his points per game around the projection of 26.6 points per game. Williamson won’t have the same impact on the fantasy aspect as Chet Holmgren or Jayson Tatum in the all-around stats department so that’ll hurt his fantasy production throughout the season. Williamson can make huge plays on the defensive side of the ball with his explosive ability but sometimes his height and weight have caused him not to make those plays.

Final Thoughts

Zion Williamson’s draft value in the redraft setting is dropping year to year because of his health and the efficiency questions, This year, the most satisfied position to draft him is probably in the seventh or eighth round of the drafts.

Williamson will bring some great fantasy value to the DFS scene occasionally, especially if he has a night where he’s very efficient from the floor. If you can get Williamson in the ninth or tenth round of your redraft leagues that would be considered a slight steal if he stays healthy.
