The NFC West division rivals San Francisco 49ers are taking on the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night. This will be a tight matchup as all division matchups tend to be. The 49ers are favored in this matchup and coming off a heartbreaking loss against the Arizona Cardinals. The 49ers will look to get to a .500 record on the season. The Seattle Seahawks are 3-2 on the season and have been good at home despite losing to the New York Giants last week. Here is some advice for starts and sits for this matchup.
49ers vs. Seahawks DFS Start ‘Ems
Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.
WR Brandon Aiyuk (SF) ($8,400 DraftKings)
Brandon Aiyuk has been quiet throughout the season’s first four weeks but finally came alive in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. Aiyuk had 8 catches and 147 receiving yards. He still has no touchdowns, but that will likely come this week against Seattle. The Seahawks have given up some touchdowns to wide receivers as of late. Aiyuk had 22.7 fantasy points last week and is projected to have at least 13.21 points this week against the Seahawks.
RB Kenneth Walker III (SEA) ($9,800 DraftKings)
Kenneth Walker has been an absolute beast for the Seahawks run game this year when he is healthy. Walker is averaging 5.5 rushing yards per game and finding the end zone four times in his first two games of the season. Walker is 13-of-16 targets for 99 yards and he is the 2nd-best playmaker in Seattle’s offense behind DK Metcalf. Both the Niners and Seattle have an average defense against the run.
49ers vs. Seahawks DFS Sit ‘Ems
On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.
RB Zach Charbonnet (SEA) ($3,400 DraftKings)
Running back Zach Charbonnet has reverted back into a part-time player for the Seahawks. He was in on just 36% of Seattle’s snaps on Sunday, and Walker also stole 8 targets away from him in that game as well. Charbonnet had a good two weeks when Walker was injured. Charbonnet did have an ok game against the Lions last week he scored 10.5 fantasy points but against a 49ers defense, this week might be a little different for him. It would be best to sit him out on this matchup.
WR Jauan Jennings (SF) ($4,000 on DraftKings)
Jauan Jenning’s production has fallen in recent weeks now that Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel are back in the lineup and are more productive in the offense. Jennings has taken a back seat on the offense. He had a great Week 3 matchup against the Rams but now it’s time to drop him in most leagues. Jennings averaged only 4.8 targets and 6.4 fantasy points per game in the other four games this season.
Total Apex Lock of the Game
RB Jordon Mason (SF) ($15,500 on DraftKings)
Jordon Mason has been in complete beast mode since star running back Christian McCaffery has been placed on IR. McCaffery should be back around Weeks 8-9 but for now, it is the Jordon Mason show in San Francisco. Mason has been averaging at least 16.64 fantasy points a game and has 3 touchdowns out of the five games played. The 49ers have incorporated him into the offense nicely. Expect Mason to have a big game in Seattle this week.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
TE Noah Fant (SEA) ($7,500 DraftKings)
Noah Fant ranks 26th in TE coming into this week. He has scored more than 3.9 fantasy points in half-PPR formats just once in five weeks. It would be best to sit out Fant this week since the 49ers have a good secondary since there won’t be much for Fant to work with. He is projected to have 5.5 fantasy points this week.
Conclusion
For this Thursday night matchup, stacking RB Jordon Mason and Brandon Aiyuk will give a fantasy team in all league formats the best production. Aiyuk and Mason have been dominant in the 49ers offense and producing points each week. It will be a close matchup between these two NFC West rivals, the 49ers and Seahawks, but expecting both players to be at their best this week.
