The Atlanta Falcons travel to Bank of America Stadium to take on the Carolina Panthers in an NFC South matchup. The Falcons enter the game as winners of three out of their last four, while the Panthers are 1-4 on the season. The Panthers thought they had found life with Andy Dalton, but last week saw him struggle. On the other hand, Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins just had the game of his career throwing for over 500 yards in an OT thriller against the Buccaneers.
Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers DFS Start ‘Ems
Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.
Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins ($6.2K DraftKings and $7.4K Fanduel)
Kirk Cousins is coming off one of the best games of his career. Cousins threw for 509 yards, four touchdowns, and totaled 43.45 fantasy points last week against the Buccaneers. Cousins had a shaky start to the season but has found a rhythm since then throwing for over 230 yards in the last four games.
The only thing keeping Cousins from being a top-10 fantasy QB is passing touchdowns. Cousins has 8 passing touchdowns this season, but 4 of them came from last week. The Panthers’ defense is atrocious look for a big game from Kirk.
Carolina Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard ($6.3K DraftKings and $7.4K Fanduel)
Chuba Hubbard continued his dominance last week putting up 97 rushing yards, catching 4 passes, and finding his way into the endzone for a grand total of 17.5 fantasy points. Chuba Hubbard was the only silver lining in the Panthers’ loss to the Bears last week and has been great in his last three games averaging 22.5 fantasy points. The Falcons have the fourth-worst run defense in the NFL, expect another great performance from Hubbard.
Atlanta Falcons WR Darnell Mooney ($5.3K DraftKings and $6.5K Fanduel)
Darnell Mooney is WR16 after five weeks and is outperforming what anyone expected of him. Mooney is averaging 15 fantasy points per game and has been Captain Kirk’s safety blanket. Mooney put up 105 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns, and 31.5 fantasy points last week against the Buccaneers. Mooney may not have another 30-point breakout, but with how often Cousins has been throwing to him start Mooney.
Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers DFS Sit ‘Ems
On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.
Carolina Panthers QB Andy Dalton ($5.2K DraftKings and $7.1K Fanduel)
Is the miracle run over? Andy Dalton looked like he was back in his prime for two weeks, but last week was not his best performance. The Bears’ defense smothered Dalton only allowing 136 passing yards, no touchdowns, and 3.74 fantasy points. Dalton was benched late in the game for Bryce Young, but it was to keep him healthy, so the Panthers plan on using Dalton, but with Atlanta having a great secondary look to sit Dalton.
Carolina Panthers WR Xavier Legette ($4.9K DraftKings and $5.9K Fanduel)
Xavier Legette is not having the season Panthers’ fans would have hoped from their first-round pick. Legette has only put up 151 receiving yards, and a touchdown. The rookie is averaging 7 fantasy points. Legette looked promising against the Bengals but did not follow up with a big game against the Bears. Last week, Legette had a catch for 8 yards and 1.8 fantasy points. Atlanta’s defense will not make it easy on Dalton, sit Legette.
Total Apex Lock of the Game
Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London ($6.7K DraftKings and $7.4K Fanduel)
Drake London has been on fire the past four games, averaging 20.4 fantasy points and finding the endzone in every game but one. London had a monster game last week against the Buccaneers, hauling in 12 catches for 154 yards, a touchdown, and a whopping 33.4 fantasy points. London is turning into an elite receiver in front of our eyes, and if he can keep up this form, he will be considered for a pro-bowl, start London.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
Carolina Panthers Defense ($2.4K DraftKings and $3K Fanduel)
The Panthers’ defense is ranked as the D/ST32 and has an outstanding two fantasy points on the year. Last week, the Panthers’ defense allowed 36 points and scored -5 fantasy points, their second time this season scoring negative fantasy points (Week 1). This Panthers team is young and growing, but with the potent Falcons offense do not pick up this defense.
Conclusion
The Panthers are still trying to figure things out, while Atlanta looks like they may have found their rhythm. The passing game in Atlanta has been doing wonders and has Drake London and Darnell Mooney having great years. Chuba Hubbard has been an unstoppable force in his last three games and looks to continue that streak against a poor Falcons run defense. The Panthers have to tighten up on defense and find some consistency in the passing game, Atlanta wins this game easily.
