Carolina Panthers vs. Chicago Bears DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| October 6, 2024

bears panthers

The Carolina Panthers travel to Chicago to take on the Bears in a battle of two young up-and-coming teams. Fans were hoping for a matchup between first-overall picks Bryce Young and Caleb Williams, but Andy Dalton has spoiled those plans. Carolina is looking to get closer to evening their record at 2-3 while the Bears are looking to move ahead in the win column at 3-2. There is some added anticipation to this game because of the trade made between these teams moving DJ Moore and Caleb Williams to the Bears, and Bryce Young to the Panthers.

Carolina Panthers vs. Chicago Bears DFS Start ‘Ems

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Andy Dalton ($5.4K DraftKings and $7.1K Fanduel)

36 and thriving, who would have expected the Panthers starting quarterback to be Andy Dalton? Dalton has been really good for the Panthers this season, averaging 270 passing yards and 20 fantasy points on a 5 to 1 touchdown/interception ratio in his two starts. Dalton has been in the NFL since Caleb Williams was 10 years old, take the veteran in this one.

Diontae Johnson ($6.1K DraftKings and $7.1K Fanduel)

Diontae Johnson proved me wrong last week and put up 21.3 fantasy points, so we are riding with him this week. Johnson is averaging 23.5 fantasy points, over seven catches, and has a pair of touchdowns in the last two weeks with Andy Dalton at the helm. If Diontae Johnson can keep up at this pace, he will be a potential pro-bowler. Start Johnson this week.

Chuba Hubbard ($6.1K DraftKings and $6.8K Fanduel)

The Panthers drafted Jonathan Brooks with the 46th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, and that lit a fire in Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard has averaged 20.5 fantasy points in the last three weeks, but in the last two weeks, he has averaged 25 fantasy points. In the past two games, Hubbard has rushed for over 100 yards and found his way into the endzone, start Hubbard this week.

Carolina Panthers vs. Chicago Bears DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Rome Odunze ($5.3K DraftKings and $5.6K Fanduel)

Rome Odunze has not had the start to the season he or fantasy owners would have hoped. Odunze showed signs of being an elite receiver against the Colts scoring 23.4 fantasy points and finding the endzone, but aside from that game, he is averaging three fantasy points. Odunze can be a great player, but this week is not his breakout week, sit Odunze.

Miles Sanders ($4.9K DraftKings and $5.3K Fanduel)

Four years, $25 Million FOR WHAT? If Johnathan Brooks was not injured, Sanders would be the RB3 on his own team. Sanders is averaging six fantasy points on 22 rushing yards per game. With Chuba Hubbard performing the way he has been, Sanders will not be seeing many reps. The only chance Sanders has of scoring over 10 is if he steals a touchdown from Hubbard, sit Sanders.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

D’Andre Swift ($5.7K DraftKings and $6.4K Fanduel)

D’Andre Swift was lackluster in the first three weeks but showed life last week against the Rams. Swift had a monster game last week with 93 rushing yards, 7 catches for 72 receiving yards, a touchdown, and a grand total of 29.5 fantasy points. Swift has not had the production fantasy owners would have hoped but is not because of a lack of reps. Swift is averaging over 16 touches a game and will find success this week.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Keenan Allen ($5.8K DraftKings and $5.8K Fanduel)

Keenan Allen has been sidelined for half of the season with a heel injury. Allen made his return last week against the Rams but did not have the best game. Allen is averaging 3 catches and 25 receiving yards in his two games this season and is yet to find the endzone. Allen is 32 and will likely have fewer reps than normal to ease him back onto the field, sit Allen.

Conclusion

Both of these teams are unknown in the NFL world right now. This game could end 40-35 or 10-7 with both offenses having so many unknown variables. The Panthers have a trio of Dalton, Johnson, and Hubbard that have been on fire lately, and this trio could eke out a win for the Panthers. The Bears are undefeated at home, and Chicago can be a tough environment to play in. However, Andy Dalton’s play will determine the winner of this game.
